I was reading (or rather flipping) through the past week of newspapers, when I came across this article, which told a story of 2 brothers, Da Hu and Xiao Hu in China, both are smart, kind and why is it that both are taken ill at the same time? Da Hu had malignant tumor, while Xiao Hu had leukemia. Their parents are poor farmers, so after borrowing money from relatives and friends, schools's fund raising and government's help (a few thousand RMB only), they only managed to come up with enough sum of money for one of the brothers. So they decided to pick lot, whoever pick the lot with the word "treatment", will go for the treatment. Xiao Hu had cheated in writing the lots, he wrote both lots as "treatment" and he let Da Hu picked the lot first, so that Da Hu can go for treatment!!! Think about it, a person's life is being determined by just a piece of paper, oh my god! Xiao Hu claimed that his brother should go for the treatment coz he is smarter than him and his treatment costs less too. Wah!!! After reading, I almost cried. Da Hu said this to the Xiao Hu before he left to the city for treatment, "We shall be brothers again in our next life." (t_t)!!!
So sad...
