URun 2012

Joined my first 10km today! Better to start small steps first, 21km last year was a shame, clocking at 4 hrs! Anyway, my aim for today was 1.5 hrs, and I did it! My finishing time was 1.28mins! Woohoo! If I jogged all the way, maybe even 1 hr 15mins!

After the 6km mark, I was sprinting for 1min, and then brisk walked for 4 mins... and I stopped at every hydration point... considering all these rests... 1.5 is not bad already right?!?

My next coming run is 21km, and I aim to complete in 3hrs!

I can do it!

I think i got picked by a les.

Attended a very atas Italian dinner last Thursday with my company. It was a treat by our new partner, a witty 65yo French guy. His wife is gorgeous!!!

So, it was my very first atas dinner, seriously. I used to watch in movies, where these atas ppl attended dinners, they would be served with wine while waiting and chit-chatting. Then we were served the meals course by course, with our wine kept refilling. The meals were fantastic! It was at No Menu, at Boon Tat Street. I had no idea how much it is, but it was an authentic Italian restaurant, run by an Italian family! They were so friendly, I was just browsing the books, and the chef mum came to me and started explaining to me!!!

Then I went to join my colleagues in the chit-chat, although I still felt a bit awkward.Once I started warm up,m everything felt good. I even greeted the wives of my colleagues like an ang moh, with kisses on the cheeks, LOL. Seriously, I enjoyed it.

The dinner ended at around 10.30, but we chatted until 1am. Boss asked if I want to continue with them, I stunned for a while, and said yes. Well, it was a good time to bond, and being my first outing with them, I don't want to miss. We had wanted to go club 83 but it was closing, so we went to a karaoke pub a few units beside. Boss didn't join us by then coz he was probably grounded by his wife. LOL

Anyway, the pub was called HQ Karaoke and Pub. At first glance, I thought there was a lot of females. Throughout the night, while waiting for our turns to sing, we discovered that all of them could sing, even the bartender! Damn good! So good that my colleagues and I were too paiseh to sing. I was the only chinese, so I understand what they sang, my colleagues, all non-chinese, were awed by those powerful vocals despite not understanding a single chinese word.

I secretly thought there were a lot of les... but I just thought they could be those arty-farty pple who doesn't work regular hours like us. Anyway, we had such fun time that my colleagues refused toleave after singing the last song, Partly because we waited for quite some time too, as it rotated between the tables with 2 songs, and we happened to be the last table. Being their tech support, they asked me to "troubleshoot" for them out of habit, and jokingly. Seeing how 为难 the bartender was, I told them there was nothing I could do since they already plugged out the system. Sometimes, these ang moh, really had warped thinking, They really think I simi ma en hiao!

After paying the bill, we headed out for the door. I apologized to the bartender (les) once more, and she gave me a squeeze on the shoulder, and told me that we should come back when free. Seriously, I don't know if that was a hint or something, but I just got all ticklish and siam, telling her it was itchy. You know how sensitive my shoulders can be. LOL. She's actually quite nice looking.

My colleague gave the cab driver fee when I boarded the taxi. So paiseh can... but the next day, I returned full amount to him coz I don't wanna feel like owed him something. He's spanish, so he was being gentlemen, but  factually, I'm just not used to being pampered by male colleagues this way. It is an Asian thing?

So I went google on this pub, and found out that it was opened by Irene Ang (Phua Chu Kang's wife Rosie). Oh... no wonder the crowd type was so concentrated...

I don't mind going back again, coz they are all so friendly!

BodyFirst part 2

So I had my second lesson of BodyFirst last Monday. True to his words, my instructor gave me a set of see-easy-but-tough workouts.

I started with push up, 15 times.

Followed by this set, when I hold dumbells close towards my chest, then with one leg on step board, and I gotta butt push outwards, and push my arms in front. Woah!!!~~~!!!

The ball twist looked simple, but it was so strenuous following up after 5 times. All I had to do was to grab a ball, from my left side, I lifted it up and turned to my right, with my knees bent. -_-||| Almost gave up.

Then I had to throw punches in cruch position, high~~~

As  if the dumbell push wasn't enough, I had to do dumbbell arm raise with one leg raise!!!!

Last set was like paddling during swimming, except that I was doing it with face up and my legs in 45 degrees. Definitely good for those who wanna trim their tummy!

The amazing thing was, I started my cardio (10 minutes threadmill) before 2 sets of the above. Then when I went for cycling, I did one last set, it was easier than the first two. I thought that it would be tougher since my body is tired, but no, coz after building up the muscles during the first 2 sets, the muscles was there to help me in my last set. Interesting!

Having my last lesson tomorrow, I still not sure if I wanna get my PT Zin to continue. Coz like he said, it's expensive to hire a personal trainer. Haiz...

See how...

super sianz evening

well, I asked LL what that guy thought of me... LL, being the straightforward LL I knew, just told me straight that he had no sparks with me.

I think he 看照片被电到,看本人被吓到!

I can't help thinking about this: if I were slimmer, and I would probably look prettier, would he say otherwise?

Nair mind, it's his loss!

However, can't help feeling sianz, coz that striked off one of my NY resolution: get a bf!

Fuck lo!

Gonna use the time that would be wasted on pak tor to take master degree, as least I will be happier, stressed but happy.

Gonna stalk more A&F cuties!

Exciting Day

I finally met that guy! We went on a 3some date to Korean BBQ with him and my buddy LL from NTU. He was LL's friends, and had saw my picture with LL, and he got LL for my contact. When LL told 有人被我电到,我是爽到~~~

Knowing that a guy was interested in me, I was super elated! So I aske LL to give him my FB. However, after fb chatting for almost 4 months, I almost lost interest already. So I whatsapp LL, and then she planned this outing for us. As he was a really close friend of her, I also knew a lot of things about LL. Turned out that it wasn't easy fot LL to arrange an outing as she always so busy, so she seldom planned outing coz she was always afraid that she can't make it last minute.

I really appreciated her effort, and she will be glad to know that her effort will not be wasted. =)

I really like his voice. =D.

I'm so gonna re-label my posts when I'm super free. So messy.

Update: Nothing is so gonna happen between us. 不来电!

OMG, I'm still at work!

Well, I didn't stay until so late. I went for gym class before coming back to office, some stuff need to wait before I can continue working.

It's my own fault really, I had put in the wrong backup tape, hence, the backup didn't start until I came to office in the morning. And since the recent backup is taking 12 hrs to complete, so here I am, waiting for it to finish and change tape.

I loved my gym class! 原来body strengthening is so fun de! And pushing your body to work so hard, I felt happy too!

Hmm.. a list of what I did today:

1) My PT went through my physical checklist, and my aim. I want to jog correctly for my 10km marathon. 90minutes to complete 10km is achievable!

Usually, for different distance, the training program is also different. I might be wrong thouugh, can't really remember the weeks for 10km and 21km.
5km - 5 weeks
10km - 8 weeks (?)
21km - 12 weeks (?)
42km - 20 weeks

Of course, the earlier the better! I'm late for my 10km...

2) Then we tried the threadmill to see how I jog. I'm jogging at around 6km/hr. My PT, Zin said my jogging method is quite ok, except that I need to lift up my knee more, so that I don't strain so much.

3) Here comes the best part, I need strength training. I laid down on the floor, with dumbells on both hands. My legs were raised 90 degrees with knees bend. There, I had to do 2 sets of 15 each of wide chest lift, straight arm lift and raise arm lift. YOu might not know what I'm talking, so I show you the pictures. (To be added)

4) Followed by squats, with the assistance of 2kg ball. Then I had to stand on one leg and lift the ball repeatedly.

5) I did 1 minute planking, almost died. Followed by crunches and leg lift 45 degrees. When I did the second planking, I had to lift one leg up, I died on the spot. ha ha.

That's all I did, but my legs are still shaking a bit lo... I just burned 600kcal.

Oh yah, for my weight, 1kg is 4500kcal. Time to stop popping bak hu rolls into my mouth. :P
