Q1. On a rainy day, how do u ensure 2 women & 1 girl(who is one head shorter than the adults), get across from one flat to another flat without being drenched like wet chicken, passing a Sikh temple and a petrol station (which means there is no overhead shelter) with only one small umbrella and at the same time, carrying 2 sacks of 5kg rice, 2 bags of grocery items?
The answer is "Mission Impossible".
Q2. What do you get if the trio do get across using only one umbrella?
The answer is "Two's company, three's a crowd".
I went to help my mum with her grocery shopping after she finished her work. While she was looking at some dumpling leaves, Jamie and I were waiting nearby when rain started to fall. Henceforth, Jamie sang "Rain Rain Go away, little children want to play" hoping the rain would stop.
I told her that she shouldn't sing "little children want to play" coz that wasn't our plight. So she sang, "Rain Rain Come Again, little children don't want to play" and the rain got 5g/cm cubic denser.
Funnily tickled, I said "No, you should sing Rain Rain Go Away, we are dying to go home!" and the rain turned to full blast. -_-|||
So armed with only one umbrella, courtesy of MDIS, our plan was to get Jamie to shelter us from that one flat to another flat, me first followed by Mum. Because I had to carry the 2 sacks of rice, I was totally half drenched on my right side and Jamie's drenched on her left side and my waist down coz I was trying to fit to her height.
It doesn't harm to bring an extra umbrella and close all windows before going out, seriously. Not only were we wet, so was our house.

Letting things go
*Jia commented that "letting things down" sounds like I did wrong to 'things'. Pardon my half-bucket Engrish.
I was sorting out some stuffs today, some really old stuffs that was kept for remembrance. As I dig them out, looking at my past, I realized I like to keep stuffs so that I will remember them. The ironical part was, their physical beings were left hidden for years, until I would take time out to clear and wipe the dust before I remembered that I kept them.
As I cleared the materials that were inside this big box which was once a box for Japanese cakes, there were watches, cute letter sets, bookmarks of Jimmy Lin, idol cards, photo album of Jimmy Lin, letters and newspaper cuttings of Jimmy Lin.
Needless to say, I was a huge fan of Jimmy Lin when I was between 7 -12.
I was really appalled at the huge amount of newspaper cuttings I had about him, from movie reviews, to gossips, to articles about him, I had 3 sets of plastic sheets filing them. Even if his name was just mentioned once in some other news, I cut it down. I remembered I had this idea of putting them into scrapbook when I have the time and money. Obviously, this idea was not fulfilled because I was becoming lazier. I was rather amazed at the determination I had in tracking his every single minute details. Of course, some articles were given by my old pen pals whom many of them were no longer in contact.
When I was 13, he came to Singapore to promote his album. Being 13, I thought I was old enough to travel to Marina Square already, since I was hanging out with my band friends at AMK every Saturday. No one would have thought, this "visit" marked the end of my obsession about him. Suddenly, I realized why was I crazy over someone who didn't know my existence. I started selling all the stuffs I have on him, some of which I had bought them after starving and saving the pocket money. I thought it would be just nice to collect his CDs and old albums.
Now years later, not only did I stop collecting his CDs (partly because he didn't release any too), I actually forgot that many years ago, he was my Prince Charming. So I wanted to throw all the newspaper cuttings away, but as I read them, sorting them, throwing them, I ended up putting them back, thinking "I'll throw them when I really sorted them, this is too vague".
There had been many stuffs which I had not wished to part with them, but as I think back, I couldn't recall what were them and were they that valuable to me. Even memories had the same share of treatment. Memories that were so bad that I had wished they never happened. As I recalled back, they weren't that bad after all.
It really depends how badly you want to hold on to it and letting it go isn't that difficult after all.

I was telling my Dad about my New Zealand Pick N Play, and he disapprove it, giving the reason "这种是骗小孩子去做苦工"。 But then I'm just a visa and air tix away already...

Penang Trauma
How could I forgot this traumatizing experience?
Jia and I were the only 2 aged 25 and below, hence it become sort of a topic for the oldies to chat. Anyway, on day 2 evening, I changed to a black tee shirt and because my grey pants was already very tight, my muffins were flowing way over and there was no way my tee could hide.
So while waiting for the lift , they were gasping how alike we were to our mum blah blah blah... Suddenly this auntie stared patting my waist and chanted: "这边不要像妈咪"
I was too stunned to react expect replying that it was due to exam stress, then the lady started saying must lose weight etc.
Jia was quietly stepping back and sucking in her own mini muffins. -_-|||
I joked about how adults had moved from my face down to my stomach: from pinching my face and said "so cute" to pointing my stomach and said "so fat".
Haiz...

Penang Trip
Today is a Saturday, absolutely no reason for me not to blog... This blog is collecting spider eggs already.
Penang Trip - Day 1
I set off with Mum and Jia on the 17th May, 6am. Our bus was to leave at 7am at Hougang, yeap, I board the bus all the way to Penang.
Our first stop was at a JB (not to sure) coffee shop where I had my worst coffee ever, literally tasted like long-gao water mixed with ash. We had the breakfast with my gu-gu, godma and a auntie friend, not to eat too full coz we will be sitting all day long. The you char kway (you tiao) was very nice coz it very crunchy. We also had this Ye Zi Mei Da Bao, very huge very huge. Although I'm a fan of pork, but somehow I don't like to eat Da Bao, all I could say was, the skin was very soft, very nice. =D
The first day was a road trip on the Nan Bei Da Qiao (南北大桥), and toilet breaks all the way and lunch. When we finally reach Penang, we went to Kuan Zi Jiao (关仔角) and had dinner. It was an open coffee shop, so naturally the place was very packed and wet. We had the assam laksa, famous char kway tiao from cantonment street (yes, we travel all the way up north to eat char kway tiao from Singapore), fried oyster omelette (very very nice, even I who don't link to eat oyster had a few helpings ), and chendol. After dinner we went Gurney Plaza to window shop.
One thing to note, the chair and tables were made available by the drink stalls, hence you will have to order from them. A group of people ordered drinks from the stall A, but were sitting at Stall B's tables and chairs, so Vendor B rudely pushed those drinks to the table beside. So kei gao lor. But then, with so fierce competition, they have no choice I think.
A volunteer for some child charity also keep buzzing from table to table, mumbling "You don't have to donate, just listen will do" but ending up keep pestering us to donate. We didn't like his pushy attitude lor. Haiz... Really spoil the dinner.
Penang Trip - Day 2
The first stop was to a chocolate factory, yummy yum yum! So, how could I miss taking a picture right? There was a lot of variety of chocolates and while it came in small beautiful dainty packaging, it also came with a huge 1kg kind. Being typical Singaporean, most of us bought the 1kg one, even though we might take10 years to eat that much, but then, comparing to the beautiful tins that could be used to store things, we prefer to store the chocolate in our stomachs.
2 shops away was a coffee boutique! Ooh.... I am so happy, after chocolate was coffee, both my favourites! The shop had a wide variety of coffee beans, but too bad, they came in just normal 25 packings kinds, I would love to lug another 1kg back. The shop was very quaint, with a trishaw with sacks of coffee beans. Tourists mah, of course must take pictures! Ha ha, 美中不足的是:umbrella too small lah!
Oh yah, there was samples for us to eat and drink, I tried the Macchiato, too bland for my liking. I still like the Nanyang flavour, gao gao with guni. Oh yah, kopi-o in Malaysia is rather sourish, hence do put milk if you do not like the sour taste.
After the coffee, we went to a tar sau pia outlet which sold many other things other than tar sau pia, hmm... didn't buy anything there, coz it was more of an auntie's haven. =D Jia was persuaded to test some ointment though.
I think after the food line-up, the tour guide thought it would be good to let usrun wild relax in their botanical garden. As the saying goes: 外国的月亮比较圆, I must say 外国的猴子也比较凶。SG monkeys will still be a feet away from you, those Penang monkeys, all vying to get near to you and grab your food! Kids are always targeted, coz they usually armed themselves with ice-creams which offer no protection but attraction, those monkeys stole the ice-creams before you could even lick it.
Rain came after we were there for less than 1/2 an hour, so we made our way to lunch before we visited this temple which was high high high up. After spending 1 hour climbing up there and squeezing in the inclination lift, we were treated to this:
About the inclination lift, I was quite mad that they squeezed us like a can of sardines, really! I understand there was a long long queue, but then, squeezing us to the extent of Japan's bullet train? Come on, the lift doesn't stop working and it won't hurt for the people behind us to wait one more ride. Irksome, so never go holiday on public holidays.
We also went to a batik factory where Jia was once again being dragged to model their batik dress. Better spare her the humiliation by not loading the vid.
It was free and easy for us after dinner, hence Jia and I managed to walk by ourselves to a shopping mall. The aunties went back to their room to play blackjack after seeing nothing for 5 minutes. Jia bought shoes and jeans while I bought slippers, coz my brown slipper which I brought along actually snapped and I can't walk anymore in the white flats: too smelly.
Anyway anyway, we shopped for about 2 hours, quite a mad rush coz the mall was huge!
Penang Trip - Day 3
The last day was road trip back to SG, and we went to visit this temple in the midst of some veggie farm I think. We have to take our shoes off in the temple. I was behind Jia when we went inside to visit, and when I looked down, I pointed at her feet and laughed. Coz she was doing this:
No no no, don't get me wrong I'm not laughing at her awkward feet, but because I was doing the same thing! It was really funny how similarly we reacted to the dusty floor.
It was a long jam when we arrived at Tuas Checkpoint, coz many Singaporeans were out of SG during the long weekend. On the way back, there was a bus broke down, and the people in the bus had to walk to the custom, but they were not allowed to enter, coz they need to be in a bus! And they had no choice but to walk back and along the way, asked the buses to pick then up but many refused until they came to us. Quite poor things. And after we cleared the customs, I saw them being questioned. The Lebanese had wanted to lodge a complain and wanna take a photo of the officer who refused them entry. Oh my, this isn't about customer service leh! Jia and I both gave the "eyes" when that lady said she wanna complain.
The best part of the trip would be my winning in playing Bingo, which was to help us kill time. There was 1 Big prize, and 1 small prize. During the trip, I won 3 Big and 1 Small! Very Lucky! Won enough to cover the cost of my slippers.

Random Rubbish
I'm leaving for Penang in 3 more hours. Will be posting many many (hopefully) pictures lah!
Turned out that Mum is going to Penang too, and she hid it from us for 2 whole weeks! Crazy Jia had a crazy time laughing until she cried, when Mum finally told her that she's going and hence, "delivered" Jamie to one of my relatives. Ha... We thought she wanna get some lomantic time with my Dad without the 3 chandeliers, ha ha ha!
I met up with a secondary school fren today. We haven met since our poly first year! Damn long ago, and we went to Mac, coz that was the place we always hang out back in secondary school days during the study period for O-levels. Mac was also proudly my sponsor for the 10kgs I gained in that 1 year, gosh.
Among my clique, there was only a guy which now had evolved into a faithful Amway distributor, me dread of meeting up with him, and 2 malay girls. Anyway, we took some pictures with the magnificent M logo, to show to the other girl Shameen who is still in Egpyt. Hear from Liana (the person I met) that Shameem is getting married to that shy boy from SRJC. Heh heh.
Wah...
Alright, too tired to do anything. Shall upload my glorious pictures next time

Biting Mood
I'm in an absolute annoying mood: PMS
Hence, this sparked the raging hormonal war in my house right now. What to expect when there 3 women in the household, every month is either a war between either 2 of us or the 3 of us. Number 4 joining us in a few years time.
I tak boleh tahan when Mum chided me for not vacuuming the floor because there were so many hairs. Unwillingly, I mopped the floor with an vengeful force, so that I marked every furniture with a bang.
I don't understand, since she entrusted me with the task, so why should she bother with how I go about doing it? Obviously she must have been confident with how I fare in housework, so why should she be so traumatized with me missing a step in cleaning? And it's those one of those blue moon days where I'm feeling lazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I need to bite something!
ROAR!!!

Busy busy busy
It had been 4 days since my last entry, but it felt like a whole week! Wed's presentation was a totally bullshit, and me must have ate a tiger's gut to shoot back my moderator, although I wasn't very assertive lah.
Been busy dating, that's what my life been revolving, and he's none other than Mr.

HARRY POTTER!!!
I dun understand why a supposedly children book could catch everybody's soul, including mine. I'm already almost finishing the 5th title, Order of the Phoenix. And when we went library today, Jamie actually found the 6th and 7th! It is such a horrible suppression to keep my hands off them for the next few weeks coz I got shitloads of things to clear! FYP binding, FYP instruction guide, clear room, blah blah blah.. The things I wanted to do is almost 2 A4 pages, with my point size 20 font though, still... a lot...
Oh, I've passed the first interview, and I am going to the second round on Monday. But then, I am in a huge dilemma now though, despite that I am more or less finalized on my next plan already. Will reveal more details once I settled everything, first thing first was getting an IOU from Loanshark Lim. =)
To me, a once-in-a-lifetime experience is more worth than paid job, hence, my itchy butt is now once again in a deeper shitty debt lah.
Haiz... Loanshark Lim said, "钱债能还的再多,也没人情债多,因为是欠一辈子的。" Must be extra nicey to her liao.
I realized I'm less conscious about how my body looked fat when I'm with Jamie, coz bringing her automatically makes me look like I'm her mother and having a kid somehow justify my barrel body. But then, so many mothers who had a dozen kids don't even weigh half of me lor... !@#$%^&*!@#$%^&*&

Act 叻again
I spent the whole of yesterday reading Harry Potter.
I spent the whole of this morning reading Harry Potter.
I spent 1 hr in the train writing notes for the slides.
I spent 45 minutes typing my slides.
I spent 20 minutes to complete my presentation.
Judging the amount of time I spent on the different priorities, I am dangerously planting seeds of regrets in months to come. :P
Since I already expected to see myself regret when the results are out, will I still regret?

Rejected
Jia asked me, whether I was rejected by companies before. At that moment, I couldn't recalled any straightaway, and now as I think back, I did get rejected, twice, both telco companies.
The first rejection by the west side telco was expected coz I wanted to work part time, and when they asked me if I could get to work on time, I told them should be no problem, but I got stunned when they asked what if I couldn't handle both jobs, and I couldn't justify my position of why I wanted to work a part time when I already held a full time job, and I possibly couldn't tell them it was because I wanted to earn more money! BTW, it was a group interview.
The second time was at the east side telco, a temp full time job to work before I entered Uni. The reason why I wasn't selected was pretty straightforward: I went straight to interview after a half day work with no nap during the travel from west to east, hence I talked incoherently and wasn't impressive to the supervisor. I remembered being very tired and pondered his questions each for a long time.
To me, it was just finding another job lor.

To me, it was just finding another job lor.

Dusty Blog
It's been a week since I last blogged! Whoot! What a long time!
I sucked badly at today's job interview, there were a few times which I wanna slapped myself after I answered, bleahz... Must practiced more....
Been busy catching the HK drama Ah-Wang, that's why I hardly blogged coz I'm hardly in front of the PC. And when I'm using the PC, I'm so tired that I just checked my emails and then go to sleep.
Tomorrow must chiong FYP presentation slides and test the laptop. Bleahz!
More updates about my recently reclaimed life soon!
