A good deed

Not me, but the driver who returned my phone.

I was already losing hope of getting my phone back as Mr. Chandra Ramasamy of SHC5661Z, Transcab did not pick up my 26 calls for 1 day.

Turned out he was resting on New Year's Day and therefore had no access to his car, where my phone lies.

July tried calling him and voila! He picked up and sent to her!

I really appreciate his kind act, as losing a phone can be a terrible ordeal, especially those memories inside the micro SD card.

My friend tipped him $50, which I don't think is a lot considering he took care (erm, well, not quite) of my phone and came down to pass to July. Because of this incident, I came up with a resolution:

Be nice to people who are mean to you, be even nicer to people who are nice to you!

New look after many years

That black theme had been here forever, getting tired of the it.

Being a lazy human, I just grab the available theme on Blogger, unexpectedly turned out to be quite nice.

Something soft for the next few years!

Super suay

Why am I super suay? Coz I forgot to take my withdrawal money and the person behind me probably took it. Bank left $2 only. Had to make a police report and bank report. Police side probably nothing much to be done, bank side promised to return my money if their investigation showed that I didn't take the money. However, nothing was mentioned if someone else took the money. -_-

Was having a really good night until this happened. Really shitty. Had to borrow money from July to get home. Kept thinking if I had stayed 3 seconds more at the atm; if I hadn't insist on returning the money; if I hadn't asked July out to go chiong. July was also super nice to accompany me to the police station and treated McDonald breakfast to cheer me up.

Although I asked her out to chiong, we were walking from club to club coz we had no idea which club to go. While discussing, 2 Irish men came over and invited us to China One. So the bigger guy held my hands and I held July's hands. I was actually very awkward but surprisingly pleased also, coz it's definitely a first for me, getting hit on by guys first instead of July, since she was the hotter one and get approach far too much.

They brought us to Le Noir instead, wanted to get a drink first. Still awkward, I asked if we are going to China One, and both the guys said after a quick drink. Then the slimmer guy hooked me with his tie around my neck and kissed me on the cheeks. Maybe he's being friendly, but I was really not used to such attention, so I told July that we better leave.  And we shared a Turkish ice cream where I had fun seeing July getting teased by the ice-cream man.

Oh, the guys were pretty drunk, maybe that's why I looked rather attractive to them. Ha.... I am so self deprecating.

There's something about Henry

Henry Cavill that is.

I mean, why, after he acted in the Man of Steel, he's suddenly every woman's dream? I never watched The Tudors, nor was I particularly impressed with him in Immortals where he had a leaner figure. I watched Immortals after getting obsessed with Henry in MoS. I don't deny I'm one of those women who fall heads over heels with him (so was I for Chris Evans in Captain America, blonde cutie! So is Chippendales), but there's just some quality about him that makes him so sexy! So, what is that quality?

I murdered quite a few brain millions cells over this question, since I'm not big fan of thinking.

1. His mop of black hair. He has natural brown hair, and after getting his hair dark for the Superman role, his sex appeal just increase by 1000%. He was sexy in The Tudor, be it crew cut or long hair, and then came MoS, BAM! Sex appeal increase by 10 folds. There's just something about black hair, ain't it? Like how Shrek became a human and sported black hair too, and the women went gaga over him. Must be the Italian influence.
Romantic Henry
Smart Henry

Sexey Henry!
2. Chiseled and defined jaws. Since the dawn of age, women has unconsciously connect squarish jaws to fertility. Probably during the Flintstone age, the more square a man's jaws was, the more command he held. Hence the link between square jaws and sex appeal. I found this article which articulate my thoughts, on how women pick flings, here:

"Men with square jaws and well-defined brow ridges are seen as good short-term partners"

No wonder we want Henry in our beds.
Please, I want to snuggle with you...
3. Eyes that looked into your souls: His eyes burn (pun intended!) His gaze is so irresistible. Even when I'm just looking at a picture of him, I'm melting in and out. Ok, I'm biased on this point, coz I'm heads over heels with him remember?

I see you
4. His smile: Megawatts smile. Wide grin never hurts. :D When he smile so ever gently at Lois, telling her that  S stands for hope in his world, wah.... I wonder how many women swooned over this scene?

Cha Ching!
5. Looking like a real Superman: He's so human yet so Superman. I don't know if the sentence makes sense. My point is, he really fits the role of Superman. I mean, did you see his real hair?
Hairy Henry
6. Muscular Body: Wow, the amount of muscles he bulked up for this role... is really impressive! He's looking like a weightlifter but none of the menace! I mean, how often you see such a cute guy with loads of muscles and is still straight, especially in Singapore? I'm suddenly reminded of Gaston in Beauty and the Beast and the 2 girls sitting on his muscles... See what I mean? Straight muscle guy used to be a fantasy is now real!
So smoking hot!
I lost my train of thoughts after a shower. -_-||| but I think why Henry rocketed into stardom, was he finally got the right role at the right time and he's dedicated. If he had been in the Bryan Singer's Superman Returns, I think we would be bored to death by the boring Superman.

Talking about Superman, I really like the new Superman outfit, they finally throw the spandex out! No more Super Aerobic Outfit! Hardcore fans may dislike the lost of red undies.. but I think it is all good... the new Superman comic also lost his underwear right?

Change with the time

Have you watched it yet? You should.

time to shake the fats away!

It's the rice dumpling season, aka get fat time. I've been so stagnant, especially after I froze my FF gym membership in March, my number has rocketed. Put on 1 kg before Europe trip, gained another 3 over there, and another 1 kg in the last weekend.

HORRIFIED!

Gonna on a detox program for 2 weeks, or at least strive for 1 week.

And I can't wait for my gym to be unfroze in July! Missed BodyPump and BodyCombat!

Other than on diet, I'm also gonna strive to do the 6 months abs that was populated in FB. I measured my waist and it is 37 inches / 95cm. That is even wider than when I was 86kg. It's really in danger zone, since I'm in high risk of any bloody conditions that is meant for apple shaped.

And I really really want a roll-less waist. I had 3 rolls right now... even 1 roll is better than what I have right now. It's protruding even further than my tits! Horror!

Gotta persevere! My target weight is 60kg, 32waist inches, a BMI of 24 and less by December 2013! Right now I'm 28 and is in the high risk zone. To think I was 65kgs nong nong time ago.

Plan is to eat light and exercise crazily! I enjoy exercise, now the key factor is whether I have the discipline to exercise everyday since I worked on shifts now, not as regular as office jobs.

Can do lah!

Moving House

Moving house is such a chore, I was 4 when I last did and I had no recollection of being so tired. :P

Well, helped my mum out with her client today. They used up 6 boxes just for kitchen! -_-||| So many booze, condiments, pasta, cereals... just for 2 people. Then after packing, we had to clean the floor. Had our lunch while waiting for movers to clear all boxes so that we could mop the floor.

Then I KO for 4 hrs straight when I reached home. Took the LCD tv coz the owner doesn't want it! Gonna give to auntie...

Called uncle to come and help us since we have no car, and we had a mop, a ladder, a bad and a lcd tv to carry back.

With the 42" tv squashed with me, I managed to do some camwhoring! I think I am beginning to look like alien with my hair hidden!

As if moving the client house was not tiring enough, we moved the furnitures in our rooms again. Not for feng shui reason, but for accessibility for the vacuum cleaner. Removed that odd space.

Did another short marathon last sunday, U Run 15km OMB challenge. I managed to complete it within 2.5hrs, which was my target. Definitely walked less than usual run. When I did 10km last year for jurong lake run, my timing was 1h 45 mins. Now I'm slightly faster, 1h 42 mins for 12km for the Safari last week! Woots! So for 15km, I targeted 2 hrs, which I took 2 hrs 10mins... and the 30 storeys took me around 13mins... Not too bad huh?

Aspire to run fast like those chao ang mohs! They probably completed 15km in an hour lo.

Hooray!

Love wearing caps now!

新年快乐, 万事如意!

It's Lunar New Year period once again, the time to be get fat with all the bak kwa and tarts! For once, I really look forward to eating with no control! Ha...

Was trying out some old new clothes I bought eons ago, which I wanted to see if it fits.. damn... it's now loose on me! Even the skirt I wore around 6 months ago had like 2 inches extra... In a way I'm really happy that my hard work is showing, on the other hand... shopping seemed more tedious now. When I buy clothes, I have to make sure it's a free size, or buy smaller size... a way to motivate me more too.

It's been almost 1.5 years since my first training for marathons... I stayed away from saying lose weight as it doesn't motivate me as much as training. Statistically my weight dropped around 18kgs, and probably 6 inches off the waist... Wow.. sounds like a lot... and indeed a lot.

I'm feeling bones prodding out from unfamiliar places. Kept mistaking certain bone edge on my face as acne. -_-||| It's a very shiok feeling too...

The other day I bought a Size M dress from Hypnosis. FEMALE SIZE M!!! Definitely a first!!! It's a bit tight... But I'm confident that when I reached the healthy asian BMI, which is 6-8kgs away... It should snuggle comfortable.

Jiayou!!! Ganbatte! Keep it up!

29

Oh fuck, did I just turn 29? I still don't believe it or feel like I'm 29!

I felt that I achieve nothing at this age... Still stuck at junior posts, savings less than expected yet I'm heading Europe this April, no special achievements to boost both my personal and professional life.

However, I know I'm still good, but a super big room for improvement.

Time to check those 2012 resolutions
  • Aim to reach 60kg by 31 Dec 2012. =)
    • Was very lazy in the last half of the year, plus stayed at home for 3 months, I gained back 3 kgs. All is good, I'm aiming 60kg for this year end, and it's just 8 more kgs to go! Jiayou!
  • Must show my power in new job!!! Do not be a meek anymore.
    • In another new job, still a meek, plus sleeper. -_-||| Can't help it when I dozed off, maybe it's really EDS? Just seemed to be very unfocused..
  • Maintain this blog with a least a post every week.
    • Once a month more likely, bleahz!
  • Love more, hate less Be good to everyone, be thankful
    • Definitely less grumpy
  • No more new bags or shoes till it's doomed.
    • Hmm.... Threw 2 shoes, bought 2 shoes this year. So I guess I'm sticking to it.
  • No more beauty products or cosmetics unless it's finished.
    • This is on track, though I purchased more mody products now... but they ran out pretty fast
  • GET A BOYFRIEND!!!
    • Stay single is easier
On my goals...
  • Start the Business. Reina B.
    • Started an online flea... needs promoting...
  • Get JLPT4 or Makeup Cert or HP-UX II cert
    • More interested in the Makeup Cert, plan to take this year
  • Complete 21km Sundown in 3.5hrs!!!
    • I did! And For GE Women's run, I completed in 3h 15mins! Woohoo! Next is 2.5 hrs!
  • Save at least $100 per month for rainy days.
    • Managed to save, but less than that...
Gotta think what I really want to do for 2013! I shall not succumb to midlife crisis! I survived marathons! I can survive other things!

Had a mini celebration on 27th Sunday, food was good as always! Sec friends came over, so it was a lot of reminiscence. The older I got, the less I like Birthday Song. So malu!

Anyhow, Miss Kim sang it to me earlier, and we had a slice of cheesecake as bday cake, and straws as candles. We are good at improvising!

Today at work was screwed up, as usual. Maybe I'm really not into IT anymore? Not very sure what I really like or want to do... IT seems convenient for me... Really need to think about it seriously....

I realised I no longer cry on the spot after each "talk". Can't help but wonder if there;s really a screw loose somewhere in my head???

Haiz... Can I grow old without worries?

Happy New Year 2013!

Well, it wasn't so happy for my though. My grandfather passed away on the 2nd. On the 1st Jan, the nurses at TTSH celebrated his birthday for him, which was possibly the only birthday celebration he ever had. I don't remember the adults making a big fuss when he was 60, 70, 80 and 90. =(

Mum was nudging us to visit him on 1st Jan, but we were all tired after paying respects to grandmother in the morning, especially me who hadn't had sleep yet.

And the bomb dropped while we were all at work on the 2nd.

Most of us took compassionate leave to help whatever we could. Folding the ingots, burning the incense paper, taking the graveyard shift.

It was a 5 days wake... So most of the grandchildren dropped by after work, I took the night shift and would go home to wash up, sleep a bit, do some housework before going down again. Had time for a bit of gym too.

On Sunday, he was cremated in Mandai Crematorium. We had 2 coach, one is for the family, and the other one for the relatives. My mum forgot me and I hitch ride on the relatives' coach, thank goodness for my auntie who saw me standing outside, blur like sotong.

After the wake, life is back to normal... but deep down, we all wished we had visited him on 1st Jan.

Hair Loss

It's amazing how 2 months ago, I was still boasting that I hardly had any hair fall daily and I could feel my hair growing thicker.

2 months on, I lost almost 1/3 of the thickness by dropping almost 100 strands daily, after 2 weeks that's 2000 strands! May not seem a lot compared to the 100000 we have, but it's kinda visible...

I could see my scalp very clearly now and it kinda scares me! So I did a little research and I realised it could be a combination of wrong diet + lack of sleep + too much alcohol.

So for the whole year, or at least monitor for 3 months, I'm going to do the following and observe for any good results in growing my hair back:

  1. Cut down of caffeine and salt. I've been taking coffee daily and drinking those MSG soups in food centres
  2. Exercise regularly. Not too difficult since I'm already am.
  3. Sleep at least 8 hrs per day. Which means I have to KO by 10pm! Wow, this really left me with 1-2 hr of exercise only.
  4. Eat more protein. Woohoo, chicken salad anyone?
  5. Do oil treatment on hair at least once a week
  6. Avoid hair drying, combing wet hair or de-tangling unnecessary.
  7. Trim hair at least once every 3 months

The vitamins and supplements neede for healthy and thick hair are insane!

  1. Vitamin B-complex - 50 mg. of the major B-vitamins (including folate, biotin and inositol)
  2. Vitamin B-6 - 50 mg. of vitamin B-6
  3. Vitamin C with bioflavonoids - one to two grams daily
  4. Vitamin E - 400 to 800 IU daily
  5. Beta-Carotene - 10,000 to 15,000 IU of beta-carotene daily
  6. One recommended daily dose of magnesium, sulfur, zinc
  7. Silica (horsetail) - 300 mg. daily
  8. Nettle - 250 mg. three times daily
  9. Flaxseed oil -  one tbsp daily or one tablet
  10. Beta-Carotene - 10,000 to 15,000 IU of beta-carotene daily
See updates 3 months later! Attached pictures for proof later... Even a messy parting, my scalp is shown super clear! I find the thickness of the parting too thick! It wasn't used to be this way!

Patience...

I did it! I'm full of crazy!

I completed my first ever full marathon at SCMS 2012 today! Never felt prouder of myself. I targeted myself to complete at 6 hrs... which turned out to be quite a feat! My cousin who runs marathons regularly and has a super fit bod finished at that time. As for me, I started walking at ard 25km... all the way, until the last 150m. :P

Still, it was an accomplishment and if there should be a next time, I should really start prepping 6 months ago. It is really not easy! This time round, I managed to run for the first 10km without stopping, I am so happy even though my pace was like 7.30 mins per km, not my usual timing. However, it's 42km, need to conserve energy!

Run faster also means I can avoid the afternoon sun. I was wearing sunglasses, so I thought It didn't feel that hot. Wrong! My body now covers in the the latest fashion: colour blocks. As I wore knee guard, that part is totally safe from the sun.

Still, my legs are not as bad as the GE run, where I walked super fast. I was strolling during the path at Gardens  By The Bay.

The 42km is rather boring too, as about 16km is at East Coast. And after East Coast, we were at construction site. Imagine the smell. Bleah.

For now, I shall stick to 21km first. Till the day I can complete it within 2 hrs! Hah!

Now my stomach is like a bottomless pit. Ate bananas, bread, had dinner where I actually had 2 servings of rice. Still not satisfied! ^_^

While hanging around at Northpoint

I met Cindy and Xueling consecutively in a time span of 15mins!

Cindy said... I really lost a lot of weight, coz now she can see my boobs -_-|||  Unlike previous time it was all lumped tgt... KNS... lol

Xueling's baby is super cute! Super attitude also, ha ha... XL, being the usual self, was telling me nonchalantly  "Today she bad mood leh!" while playing with her baby.. I immediately;y stepped back and checked if the baby cried... babies are cute till they cry you know!

Luckily baby just pout and frowned. She must be thinking this Jie Jie is odd, and a bit old... lol... XL told her baby to call me Jie Jie leh~~~ LOL

Interestingly, Cindy and Xl used to be primary school classmates wor... yet I'm closer to both of them when neither of them is to each other. Ha~~~

I'm a friendly person!

Bought a bag for Jamie and myself, can't resist coz the colour is too pretty! Even Jia commented "So nice! And it's so you!"

So I buy lor...  Now I just have to find opportunity to utilize it.

Great Eastern Women Run 2012

I started with the GE run last year at 5km.. who had expected that I'll be doing 21km this year? And it's my 3rd round so far... The other 2 were SCMS2011 and Sundown2012.

Each time my timing improves.. although Sundown would probably had the best timing if not for the 2 toilet breaks... still the rain came and it was wonderful to jog.

So this time round, I actually slinged a waist pouch over my shoulders. Kim said I looked very garang. During my first 5km, I was actually very fast, so when I ran past this les couple, the butch gave a very impressive thumbs up. According to Kim, she said I looked so tough from behind! ha~~~

After 5km, all went downhill.. I was so out of breathes... which I think I should get used to this by now, but now, I stopped running and started walk-jog, which was very bad for my legs. Coz after that I couldn't jog again, as leg cramps threatened to come out, so I just walked very fast.

In the end, I was within my 3.5 hrs timing, I clocked 3h 15mins (unofficial). Gotta check the timing 2 days later.

And I took my first booth photo! In the past, I nv managed to take it coz the queue was so long! Heng Kim wanted and I also want. We stood for about an hr or so before it's out turn. By then, we could only take a photo only, but Kim didn't want the hard copy so I took it. Anyway, BaiCapture was super efficient, I could download the photo by evening!

Happy run! More to come!

THIS BLOG IS DEAD!

And I'm here to revive it!

I'm starting my new job at CXXXX next Monday. Looking back at my past, I had changed 4 jobs in 4 years since graduation. Tsk.. really... But my HR friend topped me with her 6 jobs in 5 years, so, I'm not that bad, considering 2 of the jobs lasted 6 months, and the longest being 2.5 yrs.

Seriously, I wondered if I should have leave ST. I was having such a high salary, and now I'm back to fresh grad pay. Grrr...

But then, I was so depressed at my performance in ST, leaving for the best thing because I know I would be a drag to them, I can't have them always helped me.

I felt that this year I had all kinds of wishes came true, I remembered telling an JXX colleague when I left the company that I might want to do system engineer. Well, here I am, starting work as one this Monday.

When I left the last company, I told myself, I have to go back to being an engineer, but not software. Tadah, wish came true.

It was really ironic, as initially, I didn;t want the job at first, as they required a diploma grad. Thinking that the pay would be half of what I had, I just swayed into the interview with no stress. And I think I kinda aced the interview, personal record coz I wasn't nervous. I was being myself, being a little joker. When they asked if I could deal with stress, I answered: "Yeah, no issue, ST has good stress training. But you probably hear me screaming in the washroom."

Very me right?

Within an hour after the first interview on Monday, 3 Sep 2012, I received a call to get me down for second interview on Wed. Oh, I had 6 panels for the first interview plus a technical test.

I kinda BS my test, but the engineers seemed quite impressed, well, the power of smoking people! Ha ha! :P

I thought I would flung my 2nd interview, as I kinda imitated how the Japanese might talk with not so good English. Heck, the Jap Director was speaking like that, so I thought it didn't sit with him well, although the team lead was very amused and laughed, "Ya ya ya, you are like that!" Then proceed to taichi away the attention by telling the Director and HR manager that I did well for my technical test.

Phew....

So I was offered the job on Thursday, and I signed the contract on Friday, a very good start to September!

the silliest thing i've done today

I missed kickboxing, so I made a last minute decision to attend FF AMK at 4.20pm. When I left house, it was already 3.55pm, so I took a taxi and spent $8 on the ride.

I reached 5 mins earlier, the class starts on the dot. After kicking for 15mins, I was out of breathe, and dizzy, so I went to bath.

Very -_-|||
