Elaine's Wedding

Attended Elaine's wedding just now, at Orchard Hotel, food and service was so-so. The 0nly gorgeous factor is the bride. Ha ha. Anyway, Elaine invited a few big shot, one of them was the MP dunno which GRC, Christopher De Souza. He dedicated and sang the song "月亮代表我的心" to Elaine and Ken.

In between the wedding, the crew captain armed himself with some sheets of paper and a pen and was going around to do survey. I gave him "average" for the food and service, but I couln't think of what improvements, so Felice contributed by telling him to get one service ctrew per table, instead of 2 crew to 3 tables. After he left, we noticed we could have tell him to standardise the servings. It was pretty weird some food were portioned out nicely for us, some we had to scoop outselves. We thought the crew would serve us the fish sicne she was cutting; no, she just cut and left the table, leaving us to get the pathetic fish ourselves. Anyway, we thought of a few more but now I can't recall.

Belle and Felice had fun time looking at yandaos, ha ha. But then, they weren't discreet at all when grading the guys leh, so malu! Ha ha... I think one of the guys overheard what we talked about them.

Felice thought Belle would bring camera, I thought Felice would bring and Felice thought either of us will bring. In the end, we had to make do with our camera phones. Belle didn't join in this craze with us. I didn't take much, just 3, and they turned out very reddish due to dim lighting. Felice had night mode switch on, maybe hes will turn out better. Anyway, just post the best for here. =)

Innovationation

Have you heard of the Innovationation?

If I'm not wrong, this is part of the govt's plan of being a IT nation, in lieu with the 25 years of Infocomm industry in Singapore. There was adverts in a MRT station about how accessible one is if she/he is IT literate, right? I didn't made this up, did I? (ponder...)

Anyway, I think this is a fantastic plan. Just imagine, when everyone knows the difference between MB and GB; Intel Pentium is not the only processor manufacturer in this world; the size and speed (yah, speed, like hard disk run faster than a CD-R) of different storage devices; or the difference between MP, MB and the 640X480 in a digital camera, I'm pretty sure the guys at Sim Lim would stop giving people (especially girls and those IT illiterate) that "You are so stupid" face and try to cheat us. (I hate to go Sim Lim!!!)

I went to the Comex (ha ha, iroically, the booths mostly are from Sim Lim) show with Jia last month. One of promoters actually praised us that we dared to come to IT show without any guys (being more IT geek lah) with us. So Jia said I studied IT, so I'm able to guage the stuffs without being blinded by all the specs and promo gimmicks (I fell for one also lah, bought my LCD monitor which comes with a free webcam, ha ha). So you see, if everyone buys their stuffs with knowledge of what they want, then maybe you won't buy because of its looks or because you were given a free pink mouse.

I realised most of my girl friends, when I asked what kind of laptop they would buy, most of them go for Fujitsu, because of its look and lightweight too. However, if give them a better choice of laptop, which works faster, better and maybe jusy 200g heavier, they still stick to Fujitsu coz the other laptop is ugly. Hee hee, I used to be one also lah, my 2nd PC was chosen because of the price and looks. Then after I went poly, I realised I was cheated. It was a Pentium 3 equivalent (AMD duron 700MHz), and not Pentium 4. I hope that guy dies of piles. Anyway I was being questioned gazillion times why I didn't choose Fujitsu, when they saw my IBM laptop, and I would start my long story of the specs and etc, which at the end, they would just frowned at me and looked "huh?", or if not, even if they understood what rubbish I'm talking, they would still prefer Fujitsu since "it's only that little difference". I tot everyone goes for the best? Anyway, next time if anyone ask me again, I think next time I shall just answered, "Coz I'm a guy inside a girl".

Of coz, now many girls are getting good at IT stuffs, and not all guys are good at tech, and not everyone could really fully understand this whole stuff about techonology (not even I). I just believe that if everyone is armed with some idea of the stuffs they are doing or buying, then at least IT isn't that scary at all. Even my mum who was scared to switch on my PC in the past, plays PC everyday now, better life than me hor. She even knows how to do bank transfer. Now all she need to learn is how to sms and use handphone to take pictures. Wow, next time she can upload also. Ha ha ha.

Fat fingers...

A few months ago, I posted this pic about my fingers looking like hobbits' fingers. Then just now, I saw my last entry, and I saw this typo：celebtities. LOL, think can shortcut the phrase for female celeb when comparing their tits, like: Celebtities Showdown: Who has the grossest tits! Ha ha ha. Anyway, fingers too fat ain't good, too much typo and not agile enough. So when I try to type fast, ends up disastrous. Like the incident where I MSNed my fren I would bed my father to keep a puppy, when I want to type beg.

Even when I typed this entry, I kept typing fingers as gingers. -_-"

Friends

Had an outing with the poly astro frens last night, also a post birthday celebration for YT. Then bump into a secondary school fren in Orchard. We did not say "Hi" to each other, we just each other 2 glances then look somewhere else.

I don't even bother to say "Hi" to those I met in Uni, moreover someone in Orchard.

Not I trying to be dao, but to those whom I hardly spoke to, I seldom take the initiative to say "Hi, long time no see!" first. Becoz I'm afraid, afraid of what, I dunno. Maybe because we all are afraid of this unknown, that's why no one makes the first move. Or maybe becoz I felt that back in their memories, I am of non existent, so there's no point to catch up. Actually, I do want to say "Hi".

Now as I think back, I do take the initiative sometimes. However, some ended quite awkward, or that we exchange phone numbers, out of politeness, but we didn't quite keep in touch. Yet someone asked me out so much I feel like slapping him, (Jenny, u know who. ;p) Coz I don't think there's a need to catch up every 3 months when we always have nothing to talk when we meet. I think I erased quite a number out of my phonebook. (Years ago handphone could only store that much, and my hardcopy is useless with me). Plus it doesn't help much when people are always changing phone numbers, then when you want to inform people about the change, you will start filtering the list of who you should update. It gets really turn off when u received an sms asking who you are, right?

Then came Friendster, which everyone started to "dig" old frens out. I think Friendster is a good way of keeping all these contacts, even though we might never talk to each other again.

I think it all takes an effort to keep in touch. Haiz... So long never see the 2/5 gang le.

A good day? No no

I tot my day was too good to be true: Slept at 3am, woke up at 5am yet not feeling tired. Wake up to a bowl of nice breakfast, manage to leave house 10 minutes earlier than usual. Wah sai, the day wastoo good to be true... Take MRT also got seats somemore, wah shiok, can catch 40 winks.

Then it was a crazy day of rushing report. Finally can go home, stand until Woodlands before I got a seat. Rest my eyes coz very painful.

Was so terribly hungry when I reached home. Gobbled down half jin of kway tiao (and it costs only 30 cents!?!) with yong tau foo. Today our dinner is very personalized: Dad got his fish head, I got my yong tau foo and Jia got Ba Chor with Mee Tai Ma. Min is rubbish bin, so she eats anything. LOL.

Need to finish 2 reports tonight, kill me...

Stupid tutor

I feel like strangling my Maths tutor to death. KNNBCCB, where got tutor give 3 LONG questions for quiz de, 3 questions... never mind, but keep flipping your mind like roti prata, at first you said Q1 very tedious, then u say Q3 very hard, then you said must do Q2, so what, which one should I do to score? And very smart hor, give us one hr to do machiam very good, you think I don't know is because you lazy to go through the tutorial.

You didn't print for us the questions, never mind, I don't mind copying, but do you have to show biasness? To think you actually tell the guy in front of me that his answer is wrong, then why didn't you hint the others? OOH! Just because he talked and joked with you every week har? K lah, next time I bring a clown to make you happy.

Met up with the polygang last night, and we had dinner at the food court instead of cafe cartel as planned. I had a really disgusting Korean food, shitty ramen, is more like instant noodles cooked with chicken and veggie and put a lot of chilli oil... Pui! Oh, happen to saw Kim also, so qiao, sitting just behind me. We couln't fix a time to meet, yet we bumped each other there. Then bump into XL and RN this morning also... wah ha ha ha.

Something as consolation for not studying: I won $30+ at mahjong, yeah!!! Using Jia's lingo: Damn Luck Gu! Coz considering my mahjong skills still at elementary level. Treating mum and sis for breakfast tmr... Heez!

Was recommended by my sis Jia tat Bebo is gd... so i tot i pop in & take a look & start on my 1st journel.Shall start wif how i start my day...

2day very "Ku lat", wake up @ 7am 2 accompany my mum 2 go & visit auntie june, Mom had a bag of hai xim & a VCR player 4 her... then went 2 Koufu & eat, kns, the roasted duck noodle i ordered is so stingy with the serving, noodle, roasted duck and char siew (added, not complimetary) all so little, cost me $4.50, worst is the duck meat she gave me all r lards of fat.. duhz.. so little liao still got 2 share wif Jamie.. wah lau eh..

at ard 10 i think, we made out way 2 Funan IT mall 2 trade in the old printers, aunt Kylie said start @ 11am.. mum me & jamie waited.. & i asked the security guard, made 2 trips to the info counter which is at level 2, only 2 find out tat the bloody trade in starts @ 12.. & they were late lor.. kns.. this is nt the worst, the printers tat i had dragged is zero dollar value.. kns, drag for nothing, but also gd lah, rubbish eliminated from my hse, next target is my dad's rubbish

then i went 2 the IT fair @ suntec, on my way, bought a skirt @ Hangten, coz it fit me well.. then slowly made my way 2 the halls, wah lau eh.. today sai ren lor, so many pple, packed like sardines, smell all the ba-wu, faint.. hardly squeeze my way there.. was looking for a external HDD, saw Zhiyang giving flyer when i was upon the escalater, no chance 2 say hi coz i was pushed away. While bioing @ level 4, shit, i attracted a financial planner while i was bioing at her catalogue of IT devices, bo pian, i sit down & play along wif her, think my acting skills improve, i act as if i'm very interested, till PZ came, i was still halaing wif her.. but i decided not 2 buy and plans coz my pay is really pathetic...

after the ha-la ends, me and PZ went 2 c-c-look-look, then saw a 2.5 inch HDD, gd.. tat's what i want, i got a HDD box liao, this ft just nice, got it @$119, 40GB, klah, i dunno the market price.. but i think it's worth it...

then me & PZ squeeze our way out. then i wanna update my bank book, so we went and TMD, the path way is just like @ wisma, so squeezy, smell ba-wu again. then made a big round 2 city link 2 eat @ O'briens, gosh, it was delicious & huge, no gd movie to catch, so we decide to go PS and look at scores coz PZ wanna learn violin.. then chit chat wif huilee @ her workplace ProPhoto, haiz, talked abt this yr Astro com, so disappointed wif them. while on our way back to Yishun, wanna show PZ the coupons i had and shucks, i had an Obriens vouncher.. and it's valid only on SUN!!!! me and PZ hardbreat siah... coz the 2 sets of sandwiches and 2 cups of drinks cost us $24...-_-

Singapore Idol 2006

Woo Hoo, Hady won. Although 老人家 (me) didn't follow this already cool down mania (or becoz I didn't join in the fun so it appears cold to me???), Jon left a deeper impression in me coz he has really outstanding vocal among those freaks. I don't know about Hady, since I only saw the first episode which Jon was in.

Long story short, the Malay Kampung won the fight against 华人村, yet AGAIN! Is this a curse? Or a gimmick done by the producers? Even the 3rd last standing was a lady (Oli and Jasmine). Smell fishy to me, but nonetheless, since I am so free (no mood to study yet), let me bring u the similarities among these 4 Idols!

1. Taufik's and Hady's eyes are bigger than Sly's and Jon's. (Can see Sly gek his eyes big big?) We always say, "眼睛是灵魂之窗 (Eyes are windows to the souls)", with eyes as small as slits, it's no wonder Sly and Jon can't get any souls to support them.
2. Realise how thin Sly and Jon are? While Taufik and Hady looks so plump and healthy? Forget about 白白胖胖， we now in the era of "Black Prince Charmings".
3. Long hair is no longer appealing, cut ur hairs, boys!
4. Taufik and Hady have healthy and clean-cut image, and tinge of pop idol 气质, Jon is very classical charismatic and gentleman-ly, Sly... one word: BENG. Anyway, in short, Sly and Jon not pop enough. (I wonder if Jon will goes into romantic songs when he released albums, he kinda had that 风度翩翩，yet 悲情苦男子 look, top it off with his thin frame, like never eat for love like that)
5. Can't judge much for their vocals, since I didn't follow the season, but one word for sure, Sly sucks BIG TIME! I regret supporting him last time. He's not getting the right attention and package. I pity him now. (Damn, his song 降龙十八掌 is ringing in my ears.)

With only heads for reference, that's about all I can compare. As for difference, I think is their names only lor. Frankly speaking, they look so cloned.

Crap, this one weak break is meant for me to study one right, but until now, I just mo-mo the notes for self appease: that at least I had touched the lectures notes mah. 6 more days to go before heading for my first man-hole: quiz. -_-"

Went to troubleshoot Jia's workplace today, biangz... I am so not into the situation, took me half day to realise the whole thing on the softwares and the hardwares. Anyway, the Boss also wanna atas but cannot atas lah, office so small, only 2 PC, no need so high end lah... He had so many things to ask me, hello, I'm not totally expert...Phew, I wasn't very sure I could get things going, plus the Boss asked me so many technical questions, I had to mo-mo last minute and then get myself familiarise and tadah!!! I've got answers. Still had the tech bug inside me to figure the whole stituation, heng ar... and doing this had given me a lot of exposures. Things I learnt today:

• Backup the mails in Outlook and Outlook Express: no need to cry over lost emails and contacts, and doing the manual way of backing up (save 1 by 1)
• Know how to set up those multifunctions kind of printer-scanner-fax devices: Their telephone cables so atas, must be 2 copper conductors and not 4 we had in out usual telephones.
• Winfax: a magic that converts ur fax to email and email to fax. 神奇!

I had thought that I would complete the whole troubleshooting in half a day, but alas, I went on to do extra stuffs like installing free anti virus, upgrade the Acrobat Reader, share network, clean his inbox, install printers, and fix his DVD rom (no results yet, will get Jia to bring the cleaning disc tmr). If external vendors had all this, they could have easily charge up to $300 liao, I wonder how much the Boss is paying me (hope he's not thinking of paying me with that tabao "fish lie bee hoon"). Anyway, I "borrowed" his Office 2003, but forgot his ID key. -___-"

Super tired right now, went to meet PZ just now to get my camera back from her. Had went to support her BF, who was working as a PT DJ, on Sun night. Had sent me back at ard 1.30am last night. After some mo-mo bathing and online, KO at 3am, but I freaky woke up at 6.30am to follow Jia. Had a coffee to perk me up, but effect lost at around 3pm, coz hungry already... Play reversi until I dozed off lor (Boss not around, so hogged his PC to play, :P)

The 2-3 kgs I put up on Fri's steamboat had disappeared. Oh man, so drastic gain and loss of weight, I think my skin getting very saggy, I could feel it on my eyelids already leh! =O How how how??? I'm so afraid of being old liao...

Been so busy meeting up, that I had to postpone the one with DL's for today (Sorry Gal, will make it up to u). KY also chup ji kar a bit, coz she happened to be in Yishun, so I tot I could get her to accompany me while I wait for PZ. She even had wanted to go Sakae to eat, but she turned up as late as PZ, in the end, we just chit chat (I was looking so stoned and my brain so dysfunctional already) only. Like that also happy har? LOL.

Tonight no need sleep again lah, must at least finish one tutorial! Will I lose a lot of weight this way har? Then doesn't it mean I will get wrinkled skin! Eww... dun wan dun wan *Shake head shake head shake head*
