Losing my integrity

I'm having jittery bugs all over me now: having second thoughts about the way I did this last project and don't feel like submitting it. Mentioned before, about 40% of the report, maybe, was copied and we totally used some other people's stimulation, although I deleted one thing away, still, almost 99.99% was theirs.

Feeling very bad for using other people's efforts, and feeling very scared that professor will see through it, even though we were not the only one doing all this copycat thing. With exams approaching, really no mood no energy to do the a new stimulation.

Felt that it was entirely my fault, yet again, I felt unjust. Unjust because, firstly, I was supposed to be the know-it-all because of my CCNA background, and so I was to lead them to do the project. Thinking back now, all the praises (?) that TX and WQ (the two guys) totally compelled me to lead the team, while I told them I was half-fucked because I forgot what I learnt. And yes, I could do the IP subnetting already after some revision, then when it comes to the stimulation, I screwed it up again. Even though I didn't do my own stimulation, but then, they were all like depended on me to teach them, so our stimulation was totally wrong coz I didn't revise that part. So by the time I realize what was wrong, I couldn't be bothered to do one again, coz I was supposed to do the control list part. And so, I announced that we would take people's work for submission.

And now that I have to submit, I worried to death. Felt that it was my fault that I didn't get them to do project properly, and even telling them that we took other project and passed it as our own.

I'm failing as a person.

When I was in primary school, I wanted to be the first in class, but then I wasn't. As I got older, the rank in class also got lower. Jia, on the other hand, always top her class, or at least in the top half. In short, her ranking was always better. And being the young kids we were, she showed off and I retorted that her class was not as good as mine.

I don't even want to talk about my secondary school. It was where I realized being among the top carried a heavy burden. As the second highest PSLE scorer in AMKSS, all the teachers could not fathom why the 253 and 251 scorers, sucked in all subjects, probably except our mother tongues. I got to know the 253, a malay girl, coz we were both headliners in secondary 1. Life sucked for us. And for me, finally being in the top 3, failed the standards of a top 3 miserably.

Probably the reason why I was happy in polytechnic was because I wasn't at the very top, yet I wasn't at very bottom, lying somewhere between 4th - 7th place out of my class of 25? The reason contributed to my ranking was probably my 20% laziness and 30% incompetence in projects. But hey, at least I did my own projects.

Now in uni, I am totally and definitely at the lowest layer, or second lowest layer. Yes, many people thought poly students very zai, but I'm not one of them, or at least i tried to, and yes failed miserably again (this is so pet phrase). Putting us at the altar definitely was a very shiok feeling, but for me, it was hard living to the expectations, or myself trying to live up to the expectations I thought.

Precisely this was the scene in this project, 2 guys (the girls were more passive) trying to cajole me into the leading coz I know more than them. Ok, I recalled, I was the one who was lisiting what to do, but then that didn't mean I'm a leader. TX was there annoucing I would be coz i know this. And then, I tried too hard to prove my worth, ending up like a haolian bitch. "Wah, now you talked differently ah! So you very zai lah!" was a sentence lingering since last Friday when we were going through past years paper.

Something I learnt when I was in my poly astro, the person who knew most about the astronomy wasn't the head of club, instead he was the advisor coz we asked him everything. Similarly, if I had abide my stand not to be a leader, and be the advisor, I probably won't feel half as bad now, thinking what lousy things I had done.

I'm definitely not cut-out to be a leader. My Aquarius sign totally proved this point, coz I'm a people-person, I feel most at ease when I'm at peer level, and not a head on top.

I become abulia when I'm being placed at the top knowing I can't do a good job.

"
You make a good leader as you are outspoken and respect the views of others even if you don't accept or act on them."
Ok, to make myself feel better, it is not my fault, I'm just listening to the assistant leader's view of copying people's project. Hah, I am such an ass.

Breakfast woes

These few days, I had been very healthy, in terms of my sleep. Sleep between 10pm to 12mn, wake up at 7am-9am, that's almost like 10 hours of sleep! A very healthy screw-up body clock compared to 2 weeks ago? It's been like that since I went home, which I remembered I slept promptly at 9pm almost every night.

And henceforth, the bad side of it was, I've been visiting the canteen like a temple, every morning. And I could spent about $2 - $5 just on my breakfast alone. Just yesterday, I bought a packet of bee hoon with fried fish fillet and egg, and that was around $2.20 already. Then I went to the drink stall and bought 4 pieces of French toasts (It was subconciously, I wanted to buy 1 only coz I felt like eating and I dunno why I say 4) and a packet of coffee, so the total amount was $2.30, coz the toast cost 40c ents each and the coffee was 70 cents. I remembered when I bought the toast for the first time, it was 3 for $1, then the next day, it jumped to 40 cents each. Bloody hell. And so usually I would skip lunch coz my breakfast would take me 2 hours to finish.

Anyway, I decided to buy instant coffee packets, a loaf of bread and some peanut butter jam today, coz it will be a lot more cheaper than buying breakfast on a day-to-day basis. When I made my way to canteen 2 minimart, it was closed! I totally forgot they didn't open on Sunday, but then again, I thought they should open it during exam period? Oh... Exams start officially next week... Bleahz...

Since I was already walked all the way there under the hot sun, I bought 2 waffles, smell to nice to resist. And of coz, my coffee! When I made my order, I order a set, -_-|||, which consisted of 5 pieces of toasts and a coffee. The 5 pieces were only 2 and a half pieces coz they were the traditional kind cut in halves, to think like that made me less guilty of my breakfast indulgence. :P

Lose weight? Yah right, I'm losing my money instead.

Must buy instant coffee packets tomorrow, else 70 cents per day is far too expensive! Haiz, all these is making me hungry.

Many many thoughts

I have loads of thoughts swimming in my brain, too much worries, too little happiness. This goes to shows it's exam freaking period again!

Hooked to cartoon movies lately. Haiz... Thank goodness not many movies available.

Last Lesson

I still couldn't believe I had my last school lesson (probably last one in my life, and I didn't realize it until Anna mention it leh) yesterday and I'm having my final exams next week! All these is so surreal, more surreal than my poly last day. I remember taking photos in the FYP lab on my last day in NYP, and yesterday, although no pictures, we spent it in at the Canadian Pizza in our school, our first group gathering though. =)

My exams are next week and I'm still nowhere near completing or start my revision. Too slack already.

Chiong ah!!!

I used up 3 pens (each had remaining 30% ink left, so that made almost a full pen ) in the past one week, no thanks to IP subnetting! Do until very high... Must prepare more pens for this module.

Now I know why I am so talkative

A lethal combination of East meets West, The Aquarian Pig: "Talkative and friendly, these Pigs love to talk. They give good advice and often serve as role models for family and friends."

Wah ha ha, my advice is only good for one person, most of the time were people advising me. I am a role model for Jamie for sure, coz she picked up my trait of having a greedy bite of food from Jia's plate, and together with the mouth-wide-open waiting for food to drop in.

I think I told the whole world how talkative I am, and how miserably I failed in trying to keep my mouth shut. Sometimes I can't stand myself so talkative, but then being talkative means I am really comfortable with the people I am with.

My talkative trait disappears when I'm in a new environment and with strangers. Cousin Sydney once commented I only talked to people I know, exactly same behavior with another friend of mine whom she also knew. And yes, that friend of mine is also an Aquarian Pig.

Of course, there are times when my mouth takes a break, other than during sleep. I don't talk during lessons lor and when I am shitty tired! And then most of the time, I talk, talk talk talk. It's a miracle I don't talk in my sleep. Hee hee.

But then talk too much err too much lah. I didn't realize I was a bit overboard in my tones sometimes, making it like I am high-and-mighty or machiam smart alec leh, which I only knew it after I was kenna suaned back. Bleahz...

So so so, just to justify (my favorite word of the week) myself: 偶是很谦卑地! And I detest people who are over confident coz that makes them proud, and yes, I knew of someone like that. Totally despise that person!

I believe humble goes a long way!

Today was a happy day for me, for my 4718 teammates treated me to Canadian Pizza in school, their form of appreciation because I did the IP calculations which was like doing differentiation once again. Even though in the end I forsake my own IP addresses and used the "samples" that were given to us out of kindheartedness, and ditching the irritating half-fucked stimulation and opted for the "sample" once again, I was glad that they were in full force behind this proposal though. :P

Then I big mouthed lah, coz the two guys were so sure I'm gonna get an A for this module, and I retorted, "Yah, if I get an A I'll treat." And now the two guys are selecting their restaurants already. *Slap forehead*

Making it Big

Was surfing aimlessly on "laptop sleeves for women" when I came upon this article on "Avion Laptop Bags". Penelope designed The Avion when she couldn't find a laptop bag that was ladylike and which could spared her from backache, shoulder aches. The Avion is for mature working ladies, so she design a funkier messenger/postmen bag for the younger women to hold their laptop. I was attracted to the design, but then the thought of slugging a laptop is already heavy enough. Cut to the chase, the bag was rated number one bestseller.

Anyway, this reminded me of Fancl's founder, Mr. Ikemori, whose wife was bogged down by skin problems due to the preservatives in those skin products. So he created a brand of his own and voila, Fancl was born.

And there was this women who also opened a line of home products whose name I missed. Her son was allergic to the chemicals or some reactants in those common brand, so she came up with a hypo-allergic product.

So, what I want to say is, Jia, their situations are like your case where you can't find a perfect bag, so the perfect solution is to design a bag you desired and you might make it big! =D

The word "funkier" was in highlight because it was to remind me the small typo error I made while typing. Just a character wrong, and the meaning is word apart. Due to my increasingly fatter fingers, and increasingly haywire brain, I type the word "fuckier". Dunno how the "c" popped out.

Get my life back

Heh, I went to sleep for another 4 hours just now. But then, I'm now lazy to do work. Jiat lat.

Experts said that irregular sleep and stress cause our body to become fat, coz our bodies are overwhelmed and metabolism won't work properly. No wonder my double chins are getting obvious everyday. I tot there's something wrong with my home mirror, like they are becoming those funny mirrors.

Just one more week and I could get my life back to normal, 4 more weeks to freedom!

wa buay sai koon, wa ji jun si beh jiat lat

Why? Why? Why?

Why can't I sleep soundly for at least 20 hours?

I woke up at 2am to bath coz I concussed, again, this time at around 10pm? Woke up to the itchiness.

FYI, I like being clean, and I always bath before I sleep, but these few days were so weird. I was dirty and sticky, but I just couldn't summon my energy to bath. My eyes were already half-closed while waiting for Dad, so that we could sing-song-cut-cake-take-pictures. So after dinner & cake, I went to bed. I felt like I'm morphing into MMTXRTT, whose Friday nights are No-Bath Day.

At least I woke up in the middle of the night to bath, but this is so disruptive. I'm supposed to enjoy my home bed, but Jamie ended up lying on my bed longer than me. Simi logic?

And the fact that I didn't and couldn't go back to sleep after bath is more irritating! I wanted to do work lah, but ended up surfing around the web and then the sun rises and I auto geared to eat breakfast, despite having shitloads of food in my stomach coz I didn't let them digest first before I sleep.

Now my stomach is 7 months okie! You people can't see it coz I sucked in the extra 3 inches. And I forced myself to sit really straight in train or bus if there's people beside me coz I don't want them poking my muffins when they take their phones/read newspaper/cross their arms.

This is really kanasai.

Previous post is removed, coz the more I read the mushier I thought. I ain't no desperado; me ain't writing anymore things about like this except during PMS; me ain't going to think of boy and lament why no boy like me; I love myself!

Busy Busy Busy

Today very busy, but not busy studying or working projects, but busy shopping with sisters at AMK Hub. Was a bit gian to shop after having dinner at AMK Hub yesterday after project, so today I went down again with Jia and Min.

Window shopped most of the time, and then something terrible happened: Min's EZ-link card was kenna stolen in the toilet, coz she forgot to wear her sling bag after the "business" and didn't realize it until 20 minutes later. So we spent about half an hour reporting card lost and deactivated the card too.

Then we went to eat at the food mall, so that Min would feel better coz she was pulling such a long face that I tot she was a horse leh. Wah lau, then I was kenna cheated. Simi "Spicy Seafood Ramen", the Jap stall was selling a bowl of laksa mixed with tom yam and yellow noodles to me lor. Wah lau eh. Should have bought the Hokkien mee instead.

Haiz...Spent money again. Bought a Baleno lycra top, shared with Jia, so it was 2 for $20. Wanted to buy another top, then Jia said not worth it, so I didn't splurge much, heng lah. Lusted after Jia's new shoes, I told her, if she not buying, I buy. So she buy lor, coz she said I have enough shoes already. I happened to clear my cupboard today, so I counted: I have 6 pairs of heels, 1 pair of ballet flats, 1 pair of sandal, 1 pair of very chui sport shoes and 1 pair of slippers, a lot meh? I think my mum has more leh, and Min has even more shoes can? White shoes alone contributed 4 pairs.

Had an early birthday celebration for Dad today. He very cute lah, the past year we have been eating outside ever since Jia started working, this we went budget coz we figured that outside food couldn't be compared to home cook food. Wah, my Dad acted innocent and asked, "We not eating out meh?" LMAO.

While eating dinner, he hiamed this and that to my Mum, so when my Mum stared hardly at him, he put that innocent face again. Buay tahan lah, Jia and I laughed until pengz watching the 2 old folks squabbling. As discussed, Jia and me are going to Penang from 17th to 19th in May. So we were reminiscing our last trip to Penang, and Jia had to blurt out my embarrassing past: On our way to Penang that time, I didn't eat the airplane food coz I tot I got to pay. Wah lau, I couldn't even remember lor. Jia emphasized that she was so flabbergasted with my reaction that this memory stuck with her.

Sorry lah, it was my virgin trip in a plane mah!

Tonight probably will sleep like a log, coz I've been awake since 3am. 3am leh! I am so tired now lor... still got two projects to do. Haiz.... Eyes are shutting down...

Jia was getting some veggie on Jamie's plate for dinner, and there were fried prawns, pork rib & peanut soup and kailan. So Jia went chanting like this while getting the veggie: 1 fried prawn, 1 pork rib... then my mum chipped in and said, "One nian gao" (FYI, there was a plate of untouch nian gao by my relatives during CNY, so my mum cut it up wanted to deep fried them) I said, "It sounds like the 'One people. one nation, one Singapore', the food...." "AKA the culinary version", Jia finished my last sentence. Damn funny lah!

Nonsense is my first name.

It's 6am now.

I woke up 3 hours ago, took a bath and took a bite.

Returning home is too much of a comfort that I actually feel all the strains and aches that I didn't notice when I'm in hostel.

Suddenly, I felt dehydrated and very dry. There was a tinge of burning sensation in my lips, which occurs when lacking from water. So I lugged a one-litre water bottle with me to do project today but I ended up drinking only 200ml. Need more water.

And I got so tired and konked out when I reached home today. I didn't even bother to change clothes. And despite the clink-clink-clank-clank commotion by my relatives at 1am, I managed to concuss until Jia came to ask me if I wanted to go Penang, which she will sponsor. I think I answered "You asking me at the wrong time lah, I don't know if I want to go." After much talking by her which I couldn't remember what she said, so I think I'm leaving for Penang in mid May. I heard her complaining to my mum, godmum and er-gu, "Wah, sponsor her go trip she still complain I ask her wrong time! But she going lah!" Heh.

Seeing numbers whole day and I couldn't write a decent sentence.

Anna mentioned I was quite emo over my FYP demo. Yeap, I was but I'm fine now. Think it's the PMS that time you know.

Other than PMS triggering emotion flood, alone in a room looking at a PC doing nothing also trigger flood of thoughts, but then I not good at putting thoughts into words, and I am "pretty good at it".

I mean, like in my mind I wanted to do this but I ended doing a nonsense that.

Anyway, I just had a few very irritating thoughts lah.

So while all along I was fantansizing and believing in my current fairytale of "I like him and he seemed to like me too although I am fat", suddenly, I noticed that hanging out too much and too frequently made me to know more about him. And the more I know, the more I felt that it is a dream that wouldn't come true, because knowing all the goodness about him , I just felt so unworthy for him. I think I am making myself to believe that he like me although he is not. Maybe he is just teasing me like the way TX does, not because he wanted to attract my attention; talking to me as merely as a friend, not because he wanted to hear my voice; help me with my projects as I seemed to be drown in and cannot cope and he was pulled in by them anyway, not because he pity the sorry state I looked. He probably might hate how I am so quite useless? I'm beginning to hate this crush thing although it is what it gets my butt to school.

I talked a lot of nonsense when I am stressed or tired, as pointed out by TX. I felt so paiseh when he pointed it out an incident during our HRM last sem to the 4718 teammates. So last year, while I was pouring out a lot of nonsensical words, they just drank it all in? That's when TX said they dunno what I talking, and I was like so damn high. Wah lau, I couldn't even remember what I said to them that time except buying 2 breads and telling them it would be gone by morning. Need to check blog history. What embarassing things did I say again?

Wah biang!

I heard a woman singing just now, dam eerie, not that she sang eeriely, but the fact that a woman singing at 6am was eerie. Or was it Jamie talking/singing in her dream?

I am indeed honest..

I am so honest that my face said "OH MY FREAKING GOD! WHY AM I SO LUCKY TO BUMP INTO HIM?" when I chanced upon my FYP supervisor on my way to lunch with Miss Ng. Uttered truthful nonsense when he asked me how did my demo went.

Wah lau lau...

My heart almost pulsed to death during design class. So stressed, trying to work out the VLSM subnets, coz many of them said I good at it and many of them said they not sure how to do it. Alamak, aku tak very good except some background knowledge some 3 or 4 years back. It did not help at all when we got the birthday boy today to coach us and I was pushed to the front line to do an example first. Could feel my heart jumping out any moment. I certainly hoped my facial expression did not give out any embarrassing signs.

Stressed.

Rain O Rain

Rain O Rain,
Must have sense my pain.
Shed the tears,
Because of my fear?

Rain O Rain,
You come I faint.
Smell like chloroform,
Knock me out of my conscious thoughts!

Rain O Rain,
You did not cry in vain.
For I slept like a baby,
And drool touch my belly!

Rain O Rain,
What you get to gain?
Oh, so you like to mock at,
Laundries which always wet!

Rain O Rain,
Time to stop your game.
Give Sunny the few days,
To display his powerful rays.

Horoscope for today

Tiredness, respiratory troubles and stomach pains may come to bother you. Take care of the quality of your food and your sleep. If you feel yourself to be besieged by morose thoughts, do much physical exercise or participate in humanitarian activities. Calmly bear the criticisms which will be made against you. If you live in couple, make a great effort to hear your mate out.

Kind of true isn't it? The above bold text was exactly what happened to me lately, and I haven't been making a lot of effort in getting enough rest and proper food. Haiz...

Organizing

I just spent close to 7 hours printing and sorting my lecture notes and I'm still not finished. -_-|||

FYP Flop

My demo did not went as smoothly as I thought. In fact, I did not know what I was talking although I wasn't nervous, probably lack of sleep. The questions the moderator asked were totally out of my expectations, as most of them were not even technical except "how many codes of lines is your program?".

The first thing he said was, "Your project doesn't show that much was done" or "Your project showed nothing much", somewhere along the meaning. I was totally deflated when he said that, but then he continued saying that I did not have to worry about failing though. He then asked me if I was (am) honest person, of course I said yes lah. Weird question right? Anyway, he said even he didn't ask, he knew I was because of the things I wrote in my report: I admitted in my report that my project was not up to expectation. So as I was babbling how I felt that there was no point deceiving him blah blah blah, he asked me, "Will you take this project again if you were to choose again?" The lack of sleep had caused me to be very incoherent and not intuitive, I actually answered a big fat NO! Wah lau, even a dumb dumb knows that given such a question, no matter how much you hated, you should always answered yes. Feeling the hotness in my face, I quickly explained how interesting this project was, and how I started very enthusiastic about it (which I think my sup could verify). I just became half-hearted when school work started piling up. Anyway, I wished I could just jump into a man-hole and escaped at that point.

Then he asked again, "Are you Singaporean?" another weird question, and after I answered, he said he could see that I am Singaporean. Funny, he knew all my answers yet he still asked. Then he gave me a brief lecture on how I should sell the plus points in a project and hide the weakness (he emphasized that he wasn't trying to teach me how to lie) in the future if I go to work, blah blah blah.

Throughout the 15 minutes, I was really truthful about everything I said (and of course I hide the fact that I started it very late), because it didn't feel like a demo, it was more like a pep talk + counseling session, and my remaining level of confidence was dripping away as he talked. And then, he asked what was I expecting to graduate with my degree, I lied that I was expecting 2nd lower when in fact, I'm prepared to get 3rd.

If I could, I wished to tell him that I actually regret taking up this degree course.

When I go back to the lab because of a project meeting later, it was my instinct to make the experience sounded funny and I appeared nonchalant when my project mates asked how did the demo went, opposite them sat the girl who did the demo before me. The instinct was to cover up my sense of disappointment, not with my project, but with myself.

A delayed PMS and sudden period activated emotional flood in me, again.

When I woke up 4am this morning, I started thinking about my life, about myself as a person. I mentioned before that I sometimes really hated my character: too nice too lazy too chin chai too much procrastination. I wanted to be hardworking, not the kind of hardworking when rushing a project, but the kind where I'm pushed to the limit to achieve something, and not just do something. I dunno what am I good at except a glutton, a braggart, not the exaggerative kind though. I am so pretentious at times, not to pretend something I'm not, but pretend emotionally sometimes, not all the times. I'm not kind to unleash my real feelings, unless I'm at the breakdown point, like now, but then again, it might not be real coz I'm just having another bad day with womanly sickness.

I knew I could do my project, I knew I was lazy, so I started early, and it didn't seem to help, coz I was not disciplined enough. It's a very funny situation. I started early becoz I knew I will be lazy in the process, and it did, but if I started early this also showed a bit of hardworking right? Sometimes, I felt that I deliberately make myself lazy and undisciplined so that I will pushed myself in the end and achieve a miracle, a less-than-normal miracle. Then why didn't I push myself more at first?

Back to my project, I knew I got a very interesting project, and a project which could shine if I had been disciplined enough to do it. Even if I was to do the project with no school modules, no exams, the lack of discipline in me could probably achieve a normal result. Thinking back, not talking about regrets, if I had been consistent in doing, I probably won't be writing all this and instead, would be talking how fantastic my demo was, wowing the professor?

Like Jia said, I had always been lucky but somehow, I didn't know how to count my blessings. Does it consider a bless if I pass my FYP despite doing shit work to it, or it is a bless to achieve a A if I had worked hard? Which one is more blessing? How do you defined a blessed life? I know of someone who had like 27 As in his transcript, several job offers from the top govt agencies and companies and still unhappy about life, most of the time hating his singlehood, yet I have another friend who quit school, worked in a small company, single also but happy.

I think, it all goes down to how we think.

Feeling back to normal now after writing this post.

Even if it was being trained to draw, still, it drew better than some of the human, whom no matter how we trained, also cannot draw a decent stickman.

Lost track of time

I passed out.

I went to sleep only on Saturday morning, around 8am, after touching up my FYP, although it was still relatively unfinished and demo is tomorrow, 2.30pm. In between my sleep, I went to the toilet 3 times consecutively, which it turned from solid to liquid. The third time I really thought my stomach rubbish gushed out like a waterfall. Too weak to eat and groggy from the extreme rectal exercise, I concussed until 9pm at night, despite waking up to two phone calls.

I thought it was Monday night when I woke up, which scared the shit out of me as I thought I missed my demo. I wasn't in the mood to do my project, so I washed my sandals, washed my smelly socks, sweep the floor and watched movies, again. And out of boredom, I took pictures of my slippers: the old pair which the strap broke and a new pair. The new pair was bought roughly 2 weeks later after the old pair, because they were very comfy and was on sale, and I anticipated my slippers to end up like all my other shoes: deformed.

Brown is new, Black is old. As you can see, the flowers were gone.

They are the same size, but the black one was elongated under my heavy weight. Almost a cm difference.

It also became fatter by half a cm.

Check out the thickness, see how Blackie was deformed to the shape of my fat feet and toes. The grooves also disappeared, although it looked okie from front view.

The end was totally squashed and curved out.

The bottom didn't even need further elaboration. See the grooves looked OK here except the end lah, and it transformed from 3D to 2D.

And for the head, it probably gives you a preview how clumsy I walk to have bang into walls and stairs, thus caused the deformity.

Slippers offer 100% comfort but 0% security. Being fat and partial flat-feet, my CG tends to go left and right. So, my poor nails had been through a lot of mishaps, when they are already very fragile. Found a detached toenail again.
Considering that I wore Blackie almost everyday, its lifespan is about 3 months, which is considered good enough. My Converse didn't even last more than 2 years. This is also why I don't buy buy shoes which are above $20 (unless I really really like it or I am feeling very rich) coz they just don't last long under my feet.

Got so sick of instant noodles and fried bee hoon, I was pleasantly pleased to find French Toast while on breakfast hunt. 3 for $1 ain' very cheap, but considering my laziness and lack of bread, it is the best find. I bought 6 and I finished them all, which I am very disgusted with myself for eating that much. But then again, if I had bought a loaf on my own, I probably finished all.

I think I am very smart

In an attempt to make my body flush like a faecal waterfall (of coz not, I didn't do it. Just mocking sarcastically at my own self), I bought mix rice with curry chicken and promptly decided to eat after I woke up from a 2-hours nap. As usual, I slept more than 2-hours.

My rice was putrid, superlatively. After sitting on my table for more than 4 hours, the simple word "nice" could not any place to fit in in the box of rice. I attempted to eat, like a dainty bee, collecting one miniscule of rice and eat. It tasted OK, so I heated the rice.

The first mouthful hauled me to Hell and back. It wasn't very very very disgusting, but still, eating the foul rice was a disenchant of my fantasy: eating home cook food.

I just polished off the egg and chicken, and threw the remaining $1 worth of food away.

I hoped I won't have a too difficult time in the bathroom later.

I am so suay and so lucky

So lucky because my slipper's strap broke off right after I returned back to hall, if it had broken while I was in school, I would have to waddle thru the puddle coz it was raning. Heh Heh, I was still thinking when I should I discard it for the new pair. It was wearing thin under my heavy weight.

So suay becoz after spending more than usual cost for dunch (dinner and lunch? LOL), I lau sai again. I think I want to diet/cleanse/flush/detox my system already. Coz the past few days have been knocking out to bed straight after dinner.

MSNing with Jamie was a bit tiring, coz we have to type many words in full. She was asking me what was LOL, I explained and I had to remind her, do not put in her composition, -_-. We also have to make the sentences as proper as possible, coz she used rather proper English now, I don't wanna corrupt her and months later, when she write her compo, she might write in MSN shortform:

Today sunny day, John go play bball. Then his friend said a joke which was damn funny, and John LOL.

I will faint if I mark the compo.

Jia said Jamie was reading my blog archives yesterday, that really scared the shit out of me. Coz I was quite vulgar in a few of my entries, especially the early days. Wah lau, I very scared leh. Later she didn't know and she anyhow used the words, how?

So Jamie Lim Si Min, u better check the meanings of the words before u use them ah!

Nua-tivity

I woke up at 1am after I concussed at 7pm, from a nap it turned into a sleep. So now I am super awake but I don't feel like doing any of my work except eating, but I am sick of the instant noodle already, porridge takes too long to cook. Then so happen Miss Ng also just woke up and jio me for breakfast at Can 9 later at 7.30am. 3 more hours to go, so better keep my stomach empty.

I should do my projects, do my assignment and start studying for the 2nd paper already. But I am too nua to do anything except clicking the mouse and watch some slide show on Hollywood's gossip and trends etc.

Thinking of packing my stuffs also lazy. The earlier I pack, then I don't have to pia through the stuff packing after my last paper although effectively, my room is already very bare. Just wanna sort out some stuffs to give juniors.

I'm already planning to give my room and stuffs an overhaul when I returned home. Time to clean up those ancient stuffs and sort my letters, and utilize whatever storage boxes (small one big one) I have to keep my things neat. I felt that my stuffs are lying all over the house: In Jamie's study table, although it was mine which then transfer to her room coz I don't really "study" at the table, no paper homework to do mah; in the study room which was my old bedroom, so still got some stuffs there. I also want to sort the stationary items. I also want to transfer the VCDs & DVDs to the new TV console's drawers. I want to do so many things except school work!

In summary, the clean and neat freak in me is acting up again, although now I hardly pay attention to my hostel room's cleanliness. If YQ hadn't said she wanted to stay over, I wouldn't have swept although in the end she didn't come. Anyway, once start cannot stop, but wasn't too detail in doing. Seriously can't be bothered already, I just wiped areas which I see and in contact with.

I used to clean the hostel from head to toe, I even moved the table shift the bed. Now is very nua lah. Oh, I haven't wash my bedsheets since dunno when. :P

I think I go pack my bag.

Never ever do this, all ladies above the age of 21

Stay up too late at night, or worse, reverse your sleep time and reverse it back.

I can feel that my body is like a lump of unhealthy shit during that period:
-yellowish skin
-zits and pimples
-hungry at the wrong time
-always feeling lethargic

Now that I'm trying to get back my normal sleep pattern, which I mean work in the day, sleep at night, I felt that I'm not getting all the sleep I needed. Instead I felt more "workable" in that shitty sleep pattern. Probably shorter day longer night suits me. Still, I really hate to encourage this in me. After all this, I probably need twice the time to screw back my body into healthy working condition.

I'm counting down to 2 May. And I'm already thinking what to do that day after my last paper: Sleep Sleep Sleep

Fashion Horoscopes

I was wandering around in iVillage when I saw this. I thought it is quite true in a way! =)

Aquarius
You'll never see a Water Bearer shopping in one of those big, corporate fashion dens that make their profit from monopolies and sweatshops. Thrift stores suit you much better (yeap, I love cheap things), where you can get the most interesting clothes at the least damage to your pocketbook. You keep up with trends in your own way. You don't buy the new retro fashions (bingo!), rather you find clothing from the time that this retro was new (?? I just stock whatever I can catch). Colorful clothing made from hemp, or anything that has shock value, is scattered about your wardrobe. You always have one jump on the next trend, whether or not it finds its way into popular culture. Among the mismatched, eclectic, daring garments in your possession, there is probably at least one gown or suit that is perfectly tailored, perfectly elegant and definitely expensive.

Ankles, though often sprained, are your Sign's favorite body part. Indulge in this by wearing anklets, strappy sandals and t-length skirts. Your hair is constantly changing -- you first dyed it green to shock your parents, but later just kept changing the color to catch the attention of the rest of the world. Henna is useful for this scheme. The makeup you wear is bright, fun and completely cruelty free. If you don't feel like it, though, you won't wear any at all (So don't force me to wear make up, I put when I feel like it.). Adorning your body and clothing with turquoise is a good bet for adding beauty into your life.

You could check the rest here:

I think I'm gonna to...

smash the printer, tear its ribbon, dig it's motherboard out, wreck the cover, hammer everything until it becomes flat.

It acts normal again.

This stupid printer screwed me up very very badly. My report for moderator was in 45% colour, 45% black and white, and 10% zapped. My report for supervisor was worse: 50% in washed out color because of the stupid yellow ink, and 50% zapped because it died on me.

FYP report leh!

I hope the moderator just see the words and not the pictures.

I think I'm having a change of luck, but dunno for good or for bad. I sent 2 resumes today and both replied to me within an hour. The first one was just information sourcing, especially when she heard I couldn't work next month, she hanged up on me pretty fast. The second one sounded very desperately, because she was iterating that her company is a large company and and a good stepping stone for fresh graduates and she asked me to recommend friends who are interested in development work. Wah lau, very dubious leh! I search for their company and resulted in a local address in streetdirectory.com. Is hard to google it because the company name used a very general technical term in the area of wireless although it probably could be the surname of the head who started this company - XXX solutions

Anyway, any interview upcoming is good experience. We were discussing about job interviews, and I thought I'm prepared because I yaya-papaya lah. While most of them were first time experiencing a serious job interview, I wasn't because I had worked before. Then it dawned on me that that I had only that one experience and that one job. So, it is good to get some experience.

Probably can ask Jamie to ask me 1001 questions.

Nasty Day

I couldn't decide eat first or sleep first, both were priorities. Now eating chee cheong fun, coz stomach rumbling like the thunder outside. (I went to zzz after eating 4 pieces, coz sleepy)

Today was a very nasty day; I had a nasty printer, I met nasty people and I was a nasty person. I didn't sleep at all since yesterday noon, not even a nap. I went to Jurong Point to exchange the ink cartridges, but the person told me they couldn't guarantee the quality of OEM products, but they were nice enough to give me one for one exchange. But I still bought the original epson ink cartridge coz I fear that the printer might refuse to read again. Ended up it was the batch cartridge problem, the new ones I got was perfectly compatible. Anyway, EM was in my room for about three hours, the number of hours her project took to print.

When it came to my turn to print 12 hours later. The yellow ink got stuck while the the black was diminishing. So I needed to clean head yet I couldn't do it because ink level was low for black. Pissed, I changed the ink cartridge. NEW ORIGINAL EPSON! heartache can?

It didn't print more than 35 pages when it stopped! CANNOT PRINT ANYMORE!!! WAH LAU I WAS MAD AND STRESSED!

I rushed down to the library in a rain again, coz EM said ihub was packed. As I had learn my lesson, I kept a file in my school email folder. The best part? School deactivate right-mouse-click and there was NO WAY FOR ME TO DOWNLOAD the bloody file.

Damn pek check lor. Rushing to submit report yet all sorts of nonsense ccame up.

Bopian right? Got to go ihub lor, and yes, it was damned packed. I remembered choosing row G05, but I ended up walking to row E05 and FYI, u need to register before logging in again, then apparently, some sickening dudes used PC without registering, that's i tot E05 was my P. Wah kao. No time to argue, register again.

When it comes to printing my report, it is the most maddening. Some dudes just dun get it they there are 90% of the people in the room more kan cheong abt their reports than his one stupid tutorial. Wah lau, he was messing with my report leh, flip flip flip searching for his ONE PATHETIC TUT? SIMI LAN?

With no sleep for more than 20 hours, I'm practically immune to almost everything! I said in a damn pek chek voice, "Can u please wait?" coz i see no point with his flipping through MY REPORT! I dunno what that short-tongued gurgled out, something along the "NVM", I got heated up and grabbed the stack of paper, and I flipped instead. TMD, he bu shuang leh! He furiously digged for his paper somemore lor! Then he found it and left and gave me that bu shuang look somemore.

I warned those people, and so happen were all guys: DUN MESS WITH A GIRL WHO HAVING PMS! It worked, they waited while I sorted out my report. Then when i went back to my place, a guy nicely said I might have taken his paper. Wah lau, wrong timing again, i didn't print my whole report, but only sections, so i was meddling with sections and sections of reports. I just gave a monotonous deep "Wait", and continue to sort my paper.

When it's not your day, it's just not your day.

Things got better after, except when I was waiting to bind my report, a girl was trying to jump the Q by asking her friend's friend to hellp bind. Wah lau, I was hopping mad, I wanted to tell them off but that weasel offered to help them. My lines were ready also: "Can you please Q up, you are not the only one who need to rush and submit FYP report. I have been a bitch whole day already, and i dun mind being one now. So, go behind!" with my thumb pointing backwards to the Q.

Seems cool right?

Anyway, after the submission, the only bad thing was my chee cheong fun tasting like lumps of flour and I got in-grown toenail.

Haiz, stupid life.Got a little comfort when i wanted to go and send email to my moderator. Just as i was nearing the lab, he came out and was about to go home and we chat a little while. =) did i mention i dream of him again? this time round we went to watch movie. LOL! me and my dreams.

Life is great when...

I indulged myself in a 9-hours sleep at night after 6-hours nap after a 10-hours report marathon.

Tired... hadn't been sleeping at night for about 2 weeks.

More marathons to come, -_-|||

I am sibeh suay...

I wanted to print my draft report today.

It was raining Heavily at 2pm plus when I made my way to the library!

The library PC did not detect my HDD coz of the extension USB cable, and their CPU was locked up.

I went to CITS and had a hard time pushing the door. I tot it was locked. And all of the PCs had upgraded to Office 2007, this meant I couldn't open my report which was in Office 2003.

One printer was paper jammed.

Ended up I had to submit a softcopy to my supervisor, the last thing I want to see coz I was lazy to remove some pics, so I had cover them with blank boxes. Dunno whether it will appear misalign or not in Sup's PC.

I am sibeh suay.

Even my McD lunch, oni got to eat at 3.30pm.

I washed my clothes the day before and it started raining yesterday.

I change a new set of clothes and I kenna splashed by the rain.

What next ?

Free flow of excrement

After lau sai for 12 hrs, I concussed and fell into a deep slumber. When I woke up, I tot it was Friday morning momentarily till I checked time in my phone.

I was so hungry that I could eat myself. Canteen stalls were already closed meant no food available. So I cooked instant noodle again. The steamboat that those people were having below looked good.

Gosh! I'm so gonna eat for revenge tmr. Hardly ate anything proper today, even my lunch sucked!

Shitty Situation

I'm having a really bad ass shitty situation. Lau-sai since 5am this morning, and my stomach is still churning "butter". Gosh.

Before the shitty situation started, I made a mess out of my level one neighbour's clothes. I was hungry at ard 4 am, so I went to cook instant noodle and usually I eat in my room. Every time, I will put the stainless steel bowl on the edge of the clothes line, open the door, then carry the bowl in. I didn't put it properly and the bowl toppled and the noodle fell down. Level 2 and 3 had no clothes hanging, so they were safe. Level 1 people is damn suay lah, and being guys washing once a month, the clothes line were full house. So I added "ornaments" to their clothes.

Thank goodness it was 4am plus in the morning, everyone was asleep. I quickly went down to pick up the lid and throw the broken spoon and chopsticks. Out of guilt, I washed 2 of his clothes and his socks which was terribly entangled with my noodles. Just rinse, got rid the noodle and put back.

Still, damn paiseh lah. I kept checking out whether the noodle was cleared but no, it was still there. Think the guy is a hermit. Anyway, this is another lesson learnt: always double check.

The diarrhea probably cause by unhygienic utensils. LOL. But then, the bowl didn't fell off what, and I washed all. Really can't figure out which meal went wrong.

Freaky Panic Week

Frequent blog entries here always mean: "I-have-a-lot-of-serious-stuffs-to-do-but-I-prefer-to-waste-my-time"

Still, better than watching online movies. I swear my addiction to online movie is kicking out. Long gone the days where I watched 8 hrs of movies, now I just watched 8 minutes: watching rerun of my favourite parts such as "Sister Act" and "Beethoven".

I always seemed to get myself addicted to something every year. First year was blogging and reading people's blog. Second year was playing Neopets and Facebook. This year is online movies. At the very least, I will get bored soon enough too.

I just finished reading Jia's 2006 blog archives (only 26 entries for 2 months) when I saw this photo:

I so "love" her entry siah:

Recently, my sister & I have been wearing the same color polo tee coincidentally on certain morning...

Today... we decide to take a photo while on our way out.. using her camera...

In the end... the photo fail to capture the likeness of our tee but drastically enhanced our difference.. We're standing side by side...

Damn.

Anyway, Jia had this classmate who is both a NTU student and a MDIS student. Makes me wonder how many rich and crazy people like him are there in NTU. Jia complained he was checking out her speed during exam, this is so NTU-ish. LOL. In my case, I always looked around to see other people completing their papers while I'm still stuck in question 1. For him, he probably had this same mentality as everyone else who is damn zai: finish faster means can do. In my world, finish fastest means give up. LOL.

I am rattling nonsense.

Jia just told me that Jamie was sponsored by her swimming school to join some swimming meet this Sat. Jia didn't let her join because it was competitive swimming and Jamie just learnt her breaststrokes, plus it was $2.50 per game leh. Ended up her instructor signed her up on their own accord and told my mum to prepare to take her trophies.

Wah Jamie, Da Jie is very proud of you. Keep it up!

Okie, back to report.

Ah-Gong? Ah-Pa?

The list of moderators for our FYP was released and coincidentally, my neighbour behind had the same moderator as me.

I was vexing out to him my frustrations how my project is so "见不得人", so he joked that maybe I have to call him Ah-Pa (father) to earn extra marks.

I couldn't help bursting out:什么 Ah-Pa? 是 Ah-Gong (grandfather) lor! Cos he is a really old man, is hunch-back, has white hair and walks rigidly.

My IE7 is seriously fucked up.

IT KEEPS HANGING!!! TMD.

So I installed a new browser because I got so fed up with IE7, I can't blog a proper entry without it hanging 3 times.

DL recommended Opera to me before , well, it is nice to use, but not nice enough. The webpages don't look good in it and has alignment problem. It got worse when I opened my Yahoo mail: everything was compressed to the left side, how to see? So I installed another one, Mozilla. Award winning leh, mai siao siao.

Comparing these 3 internet browsers in my situation, I got a verdict.

IE7 is like a wife, it gets headache whenever I want to work on her.

Opera is like a harlot, I look for her when I just need to satisfy my urge (of surfing).

Mozilla is like a mistress, I do everything with her because the wife refuses to or got headaches. Not to mention she's prettier too.

It's almost the TIME of the year again.

Every semester, about 1 month before exam, we will get the so-called exam goodie bag to remind us exam is coming. I believe the best exam goodie bag would come with the exam answers, but then, the world doesn't work this way.

As usual, let's take a look what they gave us this semester.

  1. 2 magazines
  2. Zappy Boy Alcohol Wipe, Lakerol and that first aid thingy is actually Singtel's bandaid package. What a waste.
  3. 2 packets of tissues
  4. My 6th bottle of neWater
  5. 2008 organiser, came pretty late, but still can use for the half the year.
  6. Instant noodle
  7. A small notebook and 2 post-it memo pads. I think I collect enough memo pads to use for the next 10 years already. I have one shoebox full of it.

Not included in the picture, was one dubious looking curry soup powder which I already threw one packet from last year' s goodie bag. The Dolmio baked sauce was good though. Yummy.

On a happier or dunno damn sianz note, my sup from Delphi (my IA company) asked me to go back and work on his chambers on a part-time basis. He said I could get friends to help too. Anyone interested? Most probably I will go back out of goodwill and since I'm still jobless.

Photos updated!

This is the latest addition to my house, a Hitachi 42" Full HD LCD TV, together with a mini home theatre system. Homo Sapiens are quite a suckers for technology fashion even though we can't operate it very well. Owning it is just to add some "face" to it I suppose. Nonetheless, it's damn cool! Dad's latest "baby"! He doesn't tolerate any boo-boo to it. That's why we moved it to this space, away from the kitchen.
That tiny little player has so many functions that I do not know where to start decribing it. It's a radio, a DVD player, a hi-fi controlling the stereo blah blah blah.
So not used to the people, they looked so wide!

Pity the old Toshiba tv, kenna downgraded in its postition in the family, and had to continue to suffer the hot air from the kitchen. Nvm, we still like you, just don't explode like the previous Sony. (Yesh, Sony exploded, not those huge kind, but the circuit inside exploded and there was smoke. We do utilise devices to their deaths.)

This is the faithful old waredrobe that has been serving my parents' clothes for 20 years. But it was already beyond repair and had actually cracked under the heavy weight of those clothes. So Mum cajoled Dad to buy a new one and he agreed! =)

This is the flight of stairs that we shifted the old waredrobe up. It's tiring siah... I was telling Mum we could set up a futniture moving company and lose weight at the same time. LOL.

JOTD: Jamie was searching for Jia, funnily, Jia was nowhere to be found. The exasperated Jamie said rather sacarstically, "我们的家不是很大, 为什么那么长 (Jia is tallest in our family ) 的人都找不到?"

Obviously, she needed some heavy tuition in her Mandarin.

Learning Japanese

Min was using an old exercise book which was used by Jia to learn Japanese course back in 1996, where she was going to Japan, Sendai with the school for home exchange.

While I was helping her to source the internet for research, Min asked, "大姐, 你有没有学Japanese?"

Yes, I replied.

The nosey her continued, "Then 你有没有去日本?"

I answered No.

"为什么你有 learn Japanese but 没有去日本?"

Dejected, I answered, "二姐当年学日语是因为要去日本,我学日语是因为我当年没得去日本。" It was a learning to 弥补当年的遗憾。

"10 Course Action Pack Dinner"

  1. Cook Dinner - deep frying battered prawns

  2. Washing Bowls

  3. Relocate new TV console - had to move from outside to inside

  4. Sort out messy wires - new TV comes with a home theatre system with 5 speakers and 1 sub-woofer, wires wires wires

  5. Relocate old TV back to the #1 TV console (oldest console), it was on #2 console (2nd oldest)

  6. Fix the DVD player, VCR player to the old TV, which includes troubleshooting

  7. Sort wires again

  8. Throw out Mum's waredrobe, we 3 women actually moved it UP. Tired siah

  9. Vacuum the floor

  10. Wash clothes

Whoever thinks I get to have a good rest time at home is 大错特错 siah, which includes me. I thought I was back to teach Jamie how to do her environment project, nuaed a bit since I had been chionging report and stayed up very late, ended up doing all those chores and bath at 1am? Thanks goodness for the new water heater.

*Photos will be updated later.

Homesick? Spinster?

I drifted to dreamland after a phone chat with Jia. In my dream, I was at home and sleeping on Min's bed. When I woke up and looked out of the window, I saw Mum, Jia and Min coming home from the market and they saw me peering from the window, so they waved at me. Min was running happily and yelling, "Da Jie!!!"

Wah biang, a phone call could trigger such homesick-like dream.

As to why I haven't been updating, well, nothing interesting happened when cooped in a room 24/7 rushing report. My topsy-turvy lifestyle could be considered interesting: Slept at 6am on Thursday morning, which led to a 12 hours concussion. So after that I worked through the night, half doing report, half watching rerun of Sister Act, and set for school at 8am on Fri. When the lesson ended at 4pm, I was already partial dead with a hungry stomach. I bought dinner, gobbled it, and went to sleep at 6pm. I woke up at 10pm, which I nuaed until 1am, did a bit of report until 9am, Saturday. Then I spent the rest of the day watching "Cheaper by the Dozen" and "Cheaper by the Dozen 2" and report (when the mood came) until 4am. I forced myself to sleep. I woke up at 11 today, not so bad, but I went to nap at around 2pm. -_-" There was a heavy rain and a huge thunder which shook my bed, probably it was me who trembled.

"用功一点!", these four words had been ringing in my ears ever since I started panic over my FYP. It was said by that special someone AKA "Dream Boyfriend" sometime last year. I don't regret not being hardworking, I just hated my procrastination and my confidence that I could do it. I can be hardworking when the need arise, like now, rushing my ass off. Ha...

Anyway, another interesting dream about Dream BF, he gave me a rose!!! Ha ha... But I prefer white lilies. As a matter of fact, I'm rather worried I would become Ally McBeal's teacher (not too sure if it was high school's), who was a spinster in real life, but she had fantasized another life in her dream. She met a wondeful guy, they got married, they have kids, they grew old together, they even have sex, all in her dreams. Now, this sounds scary. My dream is getting progressive bit by bit, just like the teacher.

Tsk tsk tsk. Siao liao.

Speaking about getting old, my skin turned quite bad after these few days of nonsensical sleep. I was complaining to Jia in the phone, who happily offered an optimistic view, "Do it a few more times then you will be as mature as me!" FYI, I've always been deemed as the "younger" one because of my baby face, which I think is on the deteoriating process.

Thanks ah.

Other than report, movies, research, I also went to a few beauty & cosmetics website after I saw the Maybeline's e-zine to check out the some products. I'm now at the age where I must consider using anti-aging.

Oh Gosh!

Msning

Msning with Jia had never been much more happier, especially today. While she used to tempt me what they had for dinner, and where had they been for good food, she updated me on the latest add-on to our house.

Dad bought a Full HD LCD TV with home stereo; they are rewiring the the electrical sockets; and the most exciting of all...

We are going to have a water heater! My angel must have been reading my blog and psychoed Dad to install. No more cold shower!

Whoot!

Latest RealPlayer

Quick, go download it and install! It can help to download those movies online, like from youtube.com or youku.com!

Wah ha ha, not only can I save money from buying VCDs or DVDs, I can watch myself to death with those old old movies like Beethoven, Sister Act, or serials like Ghost Whisperer, Supernatural and Desperate Housewives!

No more irritating buffering! And I can concentrate on doing my things now!

Colour Award Board

Colour Award Board is an annual ceremony where they gave pretty certs for us, and also to give out the medals to the players who had fought hard during the Dec/Jan Inter-Hall Games.

I was being called down to receive my medal for Darts. After 3 years in Hall 9, the medal somehow marked an beautiful ending for me. Never mind the fact that I didn't help much in winning most of the games, lol.

Anyway, I was being tricked to watch the first 40 minutes of boring cert giveaways, coz my darts IC told me the medals would be given out first. When I reached the canteen (yeap, the ceremony was held there), EEE's Orlando Bloom was there as usual giving his long speech. I made myself comfortable in the middle of the second row. To make things perfect, OB's seat was right in front of me. So I sneaked a picture of him, for my future dart board.

Right after the shot, he was invited to go up and give out the medals and darts was first team, -_-" Nice moment.

FYI, he is our infamous prof in EEE. The students hated him, the other profs loathed him, I think the dean is scared of him. See? His backview is scary enough.

If the chair is alive, it's probably cursing and swearing OB.

You must be wondering why he is the "Orlando Bloom" of EEE when his back view showed 0% similarity, less the front view right? Students sabohed and voted him lor.

Okie, enuff of him. I just found a perfect use for my medal: use as compact mirror.

I should do a post on my trophies and medals one of these days, relish the fond memories behind them. =)

I think I woke up the wrong side of bed...

Eh... Can't be, coz my bed is against the wall, there's only one side for me to snuggle in. Anyway, it's been a weirdo day for me.

  • I woke up wondering how come my sweater is on the chair? I had worn it to sleep last night because weather was cold. Couldn't remember waking up at night to remove it.

  • I fell down twice, while running up a flight of stairs (about 15 steps) to chase the shuttle buses. Chipped my toenails, again. Luckily another bus came and I was the only passenger, so it was a smooth and speedy ride to my lesson. Blessing in disguise?

  • Got a new mechanical pencil from dunno where, exact same model same colour with the one I always use. My angel gave me? Ha ha, must put up notice who lost their pencil, is so new until I felt bad I might have put it into my pencil case unknowingly.

  • I thought I would get to leave early today, but I kenna a lecturer who was speeching more than lecturing, if you get what I mean. She was looking at her own notes and reading it out text by text, like dictation. She didn't even look up and had eye contact with us, not that I wanna see her eyes. The typical kind of female gaining attention in the wrong way, exactly the same pattern as my Sec. 3 form teacher.
  • The 3D animation workshop was a flop, most people left halfway, I left after 3/4 of the lesson to catch the last bus.

Haiz... Need to get a pair of covered shoes to protect my delicate feet.

Typical Singaporean

I was going to buy lunch in Canteen B when the fire alarm ranged crazily. Most of the people just tuned to the direction where the sound came from, then they navigated their heads around to check out any fire or smoke.

Probably most of us got so used to the fire drills we had during primary, secondary and maybe JC, in this situations where the fire alarm did activate due to a fire, maybe a small one, our instincts had been fine tuned to tell us this: "Probably wrong activation of the alarm" or "No smoke around, small fire niah". So, they continued their daily pilgrimage to the canteen.

真是不见棺材不掉泪, ha ha.

Ashamed to say, I was one of them. For me, it was more of "monkey see, monkey do", nobody was in panick, nobody to tell us to move to a safety location, NOBODY to tell us to do ANYTHING. Even if I had to run, let me tabao my lunch first, provided the aunties were still there scooping the rice and veggies.

So typical Singaporean hor, we need to see the arrow before we do anything.

Doggie

A friend's dog passed away, or rather was forced to put to sleep coz he was in pain and there was no way to save him.

Why am I writing this?

Doggie was one of the few pet dogs among my friends. As a dog lover myself, it was really a pleasure to hang out with a friend who kept a dog. I remembered how I used to travel to AMK to my friend's house, and then we would bring Doggie to Bishan Park Dog Run area, every Saturday, just because I wanted to play with the dog.

I remembered how he always drooled and licked at us, pant after a run, jumped up so that he could reach us, lovable. As a hot-blooded young male, he humped on PZ's legs, the only suay one. LOL.

Despite having not seen Doggie since Poly, my heart ached when I knew about his pain; my heart cried when I learned about his death.

It's really unfathomable how time can be so cruel, peeling off layer by layer, slice by slice, slowly and unknowingly. Only when Death is summoned, then we realise the Death is unavoidable, and it left painful memory for the live ones to slowly feed on until their own deaths.

I had never been good at consoling people, especially on someone's death. However, Doggie was once part of my life, giving me the comfort of having a dog, except that I did not have to clean his shit. So somehow, I shared the same pain and wanted to comfort Erica (Doggie's owner), knowing she still sobbing over his death. She told me how heartbreaking she had to put him to sleep, feeling like she had a part to play in his death, how useless she had been unable to save him. She couldn't stop thinking about him and yet she couldn't stand the pain of knowing he was gone, hoping to forget him would save her from the agony. I told her:

"Hey... Take care, Doggie must be glad that you all were with him when he was gone. I truly understand your heartache, 13 years of love just gone like that. Life without him suddenly will be different, but as the old(I actually smsed orhbiang to try cheer her up) saying goes, time will heal the pain. You won't be able to forget him. He will rest peacefully in a corner of your heart. You felt that his death was worse than a person's, that because he's dear to you, and a family member. The healing is going to be a slow and painful journey, but you'll get over it. At least Doggie had gave you beautiful memories for you to think of him. Asking to cheer up is no useful now, instead, cry when you think of him. This way, the tears will dried up, rise and go to him. He's definitely in heaven waiting to receive your tears."

Sounded corny, but they were sincere words. I did wish he did not have to go in such a way.

7 deadly sins

If my father and his brothers were to be one of the 7 deadly sins, the one before my father is definitely Sloth! Uncle Sloth shall be his honorific title.

He did a good job pissing me off. My parents and I were busy in the kitchen cooking a feast for the relatives, coz of the windfall my Dad received, so we had it at home instead of a treat outside. I politely declined to eat dinner at the same table even though there was vacancy for me to fit in, but because I had been in the kitchen for almost 6 hours, I smell stinked like an overused wok, so it's best for me to continue hiding in the kitchen.

When all the elders were persuading me to eat at the table, Uncle Sloth was the only one happily yakking: 你不要吃啦!减肥!减肥!

TMD, 要减肥早减了,no need for me to starve myself hungry and see u all eating happily my hardwork. He should consider dieting instead.

What I done today (sat)

Woke up at 11am to go lunch with Jia and Min, we went to Hoagies again. =) Due to the lack of western food in Can 9, I've been eating western food on thurs dinner and today's lunch. A bit of good food to motivate myself, but then Jia offered to pay for the lunch, so she almost heart-attack when she saw the bill, $44.20 for 3 persons. I ate away close to $20 myself. :P

Then I went shop a bit in Khatib area with Min, seriously, due to lack of exercise in the splurge-control dept in my brain, I just bought things on impulse. Usually after the impulse expense, I would feel guilty and poor, but then, I felt happy and light-hearted instead. I think this short shopping is doing me some good to alleviate my stress level, heh heh.

Shopping cut short when Min & I need a toilet break desperately.

After the hype in moving into a new room, and some mess organising, I have to gear up for tmr's feast as helpers.

I hope they dun stay too long.

Laziness & Procrastination

Is there a link between them or are they the same?

Is it "I'm lazy that's why I procrastinate" or "I procrastinated and hence I'm lazy"?

If I'm lazy, then will I be lazy to procrastinate and if I don't procrastinate, will I not be lazy to work?

Hmm...

We definitely weren't lazy just now, but I did procrastinate. We managed to move my dressing table, my bed and my rosewood-like cabinet to the next room, and moved the PC table with old PC, the file cabinet to my room.

I even moved my clothes to the wardrobe in my new room. Hope I won't get any weird dreams from all these movings.

Will blog about it if I do dream of anything interesting... Maybe dream of a plumber with very nice strong arms or mover with six-packs on his abs. LOL.

Skating and dreaming

Aiyah, forgot to take the photo from SF just now during lunch. Too engrossed in my story telling again, wah ha ha ha.

Went to sleep last with cramp-like feelings in my legs, woke up with aching pain in the whole body. Quite a kick-feeling, except that pain in my butt: Fell down like 7 times yesterday during skate outing, and I was like slowest skater already. I was trembling when I went down my first slope with an inclination of like 25 degrees, I was rolling down so fast that I got quite scared that I straightened my back which I was not supposed to, and there I go, nicest fall of all with legs snapped up before they dropped back to the ground.

Just realised, I trembled skating down a slope that was like 10cm high under my feet, and I get high going down on a roller coaster. Ha, weird me.

I'm supposed to write my report and do my fyp after lunch, but I ended msning with Jia for almost 2 hours. Better quickly get all the shit done before I nua at home for 2 days.

I had this really really weird dream, I can't remember the whole thing, anyway, the only thing I remembered was the feeling I got, it was so real, for a moment I thought I'm living in my dream, before the beep in my phone woke me up. As I tried to recall my dream, I did wish I could dream a little longer, coz the life I had in my dream is the exact piece I'm missing now: a boyfriend. Ha ha ha.

A bit embarassing to say it, but then, dun care lah, the whole world knew my 24th birthday wish was to get a BF, wah ha ha ha. Anyway, it was this part where we hold hands for the first time; HOLD HANDS WITH A GUY LEH! It was so real until I tot I felt the warmth/coldness in his hands as we locked our fingers.

When I woke up and recalled the dream, and as I typed now, the logical part of me filed a perfect reason for this nonsense dream: There were a few helpful skaters holding my hands, or let me hold their wrists to help me skate yesterday, so I'm like having a hangover dream with these hand holding things, and probably explained why I tot I could feel the BF's warmth/coldness, because it was those skater's (cold because of sweaty wrists).

The dream is no longer a fantasy when I see the connection it had with real life, the good thing out of the dream: I saw the guy's face, heh heh. So can continue fantasize this little bit in my current screwed-up school life now. LOL.

Of money and room

Extra $200 from Dad again, shiok to the max! Luckily I'm stuck in school to do project, else I think the money will be gone in 3 days.

Probably gonna change feng shui (ala furniture shifting) tomorrow, since everyone is so hyped up! We will be rewiring the electrical sockets in our house, after 20 years! So must chope chope decide where we need the new sockets to be before the hype is over! (My procrastination inherited from my Dad lah, so... yah, ha ha ha)

Wah, I'm so gonna miss my current bedroom which has the most windows, so it's very windy at night, especially monsoon season. But then the room is gonna converted into a recreational room under Jia's proposal since we are moving that old-fashioned 29" tube tv into my room. Next time can play mahjong, play pc game, watch tv all in that room. =)

I'm thinking... maybe can ask him to install a water heater? Heh heh, then I can have a hot shower anytime I want le!!! Wah, I felt like we are moving house like that.

We got a new tv console, Mum got her new wardrobe, and we are getting a 42" LCD TV!!! Shuang to the max siah!

Maybe I should wish a 4D strike myself, then I can install the heater!!!

Must throw more things away. Coz 旧的不去,新的不来!Wah ha ha ha!

Dai Ji Si Beh Tua Tiao

Terrorist escaped from detention, in Singapore!

This is something which I believe many of us would not have expected, and probably didn't know there was a terrorist detained in Singapore.

Serious big case.

Feeling bugs in my stomach.

OH MY FREAKING GOODNESS!

I'm feeling bugs instead of butterflies in my stomach. I'm sensing the tension of the inability to complete project in time, less talk about perfection.

I had a 1 year schedule which I obviously did not follow dutifully.

My 1 week (9 days in fact, 2 sats and 2 suns) plan is screwed because of my procrastination.

And now my 5 days planned is screwed because of a last minute calling, HOW???

If the project demo is to be fixed on 2 April, I have exactly 35 days to complete it starting this midnight. Great...

35 days = 840 hours

6 more weeks of lessons - 90 hours

Sleep estimated to be 6 hrs per day - 210 hours (I think I have to drop it 5 or 4 already)

3 hours per day for travelling, eating, and bathing -105 hours

50% of tme is gone like that, maybe to make myself better, I have Sat and Sun, full time.

Gosh! May I tide this over. 20 man-days to complete my project. Probably need to outsource already.

This stills doesn't sound comforting as I have 1 more presentation, 2 assignments and 3 reports to do.

Shall go take a bath to calm myself down now.

Weekends gone

I'm not half as efficient as blogging as to other things. Just received a call (just as in 1 minute ago) from home that I was to be summoned back to be maid-in-waiting for Saturdays and Sundays.

My weekends is screwed.

容易受伤的女人 part 2

After my first lesson of skating, I had rather big orh-cheh on my left palm and aching left butt

After the second lesson, I had huge orh-cheh on my left knee and sprained joint on my right thumb

Plus a toilet-door cut on the orh-cheh on my left palm.

FYI, the knee bruise was caused by hitting on the edge of the gear, and the gears supposed to protect my knees.

Chor lor is my second name.

Nabeh is the new F word

Nabeh, Yau-man is ousted from Survivor.

Nabeh, I woke up late, at 1pm.

Nabeh, I cut my palm while closing the stupid door in the toilet.

Nabeh, I didn't do anything constructive today, except clearing my bowels.

Nabehdous.

No hole for me to hide

I was sending out email to my teammates as none of them attended the tutorial today. This was what I typed, during lesson:

Hi people
Prof Gay just told me he wanted to see the tech requirements together with the business analysis, so I told him we will send him an updated one. Is it possible we complete this before this weekend (I think is good to chop everything up ASAP so that we can concentrate on other things like FYP, ^_^).
So I proposed a meet up discussion coz the tech requirements need more details and the parts are more or less connected together.
Michelle: after 12nn on thurs, 930-1230 on fri
SiQi: free on thurs after 1330, after 430 on fri
to Jiahong and Salony: Please tell us the schedule asap, okie?
Another proposal is we chop the full report up during the the one week break, then after that we could concentrate on the second part of this project.
I'm regretting taking this module already. LOL.
Si Qi

As I clicked "Send", a voice boomed behind me: "They left you to do all these things?"

Prof Gay was standing right behind all the while I was typing!!! Wah Biang!

I should have the decency to tell him it's rude to read other people's email, but I was so shocked by him that I couldn't say it.

More drama please. Dang kwet veli much.

Oh, forgot to mention there was this rather cute-looking guy who showed his butt crack at my direction the whole lesson and he became so uncute liao. Why no underwear!!!???!!! Probably his butt crack was the cause which made me lose my sense of response. Ha ha ha.

Jamie's Hilarious Morning

As per requested, here I am blogging about my beloved spoilt brat sister, Jamie's morning maniact.

Well, somehow, we were going for breakfast with Jamie instead of Jia, coz Jamie asked for it, Jia didn't want it. So we were rushing, coz it was almost 6.45am already, and Jamie's speed of eating is as fast as a snail crawling. So as Mum lifted up her Barbie bag to carry, her files dropped from the bottom of the bag. Dang! The bottom was torn!

In a mad rush, I took the spare bag and stuffed all her things inside. This spare bag had only 2 compartments, so it was rather squeezy for Jamie's rubbish. So I was holding the water bottle, trying to find place to fit it. At this point, Mum told me that the water bottle leaked badly if put it horizontal. As I was thinking what to do with it, Jamie grabbed the bottle from me, twisting it and said, "转紧紧就不会漏水咯!" (It won't leak if we tightens it.)

She twisted it so hard that she was thrown forward, cap of the bottle unscrewed, and splashed the water on me!

I was more than glad that I was holding on to the bag, and the water didn't seep through her worksheets and textbooks. Anyway, Mum had a good time laughing at the whole saga.

Jamie threw another false alarm during breakfast, she almost spilled her Milo. If she really did that, Mum would be screaming at her instead of laughing.

JOTD:
Dad won starter prize in 4D recently, and this was what Jamie told Mum: 会中就是会中, 不要整天怪我的书 ('输' 同音) hor!

Whoot!

I can skate already! Whee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post Vday Entry

Out of boliaoness, I checked my past 3 years entries on Vdays. Other than last year which I had a super interesting Vday lunch with a guy who gave me toothbrush set as birthday gift, I had zero celebrations.

While I wished everyone Happy Vday in 2006 & 2007, I did not mention anything this year. Probably because I have no special someone to celebrate this commercialised day with me, so it meant nothing to me, just a normal day. I used to give M&M to my friends and even lecturers (in fact I only gave to one lecturer only, tried to bribe the good-looking him to give us alternate rest days) when I was in poly. When has my sweet nature gone to?

If I were to die as a single, I will not die as a virgin, but I'll most probably die as someone who hates all the lovey-dovey couples. I actually sniggered when I saw a school mate with her bf taking mushy photos at the bustop.

OH MY FREAKING GOODNESS! I'm jealous, am I?

I can sense the evil spinster in me already.

MIA

Oh great... I have been having nightmares over my FYP, over my tutorials, over a lot of things. Life sucks when things get pile up and feel like shit.

Hands off blog for the time being while I get my head straight to things I should do. Too much "Supernatural" ain't doing any good, I think I'm getting hallucinations already.

My stomach still feel bloated. KNS...

Head and Shoulders, Hips & Toes

Wah biang~~~ My whole body is freaking aching from the skating class yesterday, despite not skating much. What I had learnt? Well, I learnt how to fall down and get up the proper way, but there were quite a few times I kept falling backwards which was a no-no. Now my left butt is more painful than my right butt, and I had a huge blue black on my left palm, the fleshy area connecting the thumb and the wrist.

I think I looked like some crippled skater. LOL.

Mental note: Always take picture in this angle.

Of Mahjong & Blackjack

I still have 2 birthday drafts in Blogger, but first, let me digitize my memory of my most fabulous mahjong winnings! I won $22.80!!!

I went to Belle's house on Saturday, and after playing her brother's Wii, we decided to combine power and share the cost for mahjongs. She was to be the player while I was her 军师。

We won the first round and we were so happy. Then we started losing. Damn. Belle was not a good player, considering she learnt every year. So I kinda suan her maybe she would have beginner's luck every year, turned out only for the first round.

I took over to play in the third round, and I won! And luck kept coming in after that!

There were a few rounds which were really really memorable.

There was this round, which I was left with a tile. I hated it when I'm left with one tile coz usually the players could easily guess which tile I'm waiting by the tile I throw. So I was thinking whether to change when I drew the next tile, which was a 9 tong, and none appeared on the floor yet. I took quite a long time to think and then I decided to throw the old tile for 9 tong. Then at this very moment, the next player threw 9 tong and I won! Belle's sister joked: "Wah! 她用念力leh! " becoz when I was pondering over my choices, I was massaging my forehead.

There were 2 games which I won with 5 tais bao, meaning one player pay for the other players coz he threw the winning tile to me.

The first 5 tais was with 3 flowers and half colour. I couldn't remember which winning tile she threw or me. The other 5 tais winning was more memorable, coz it was a full colour, 清一色索子!First time full colour!

It was a heart-attack round, coz everyone could see that I was waiting for green bamboos. I was already waiting for winning tiles. I had the 一索 with me, but it was useless coz it was already pong by May, Belle's friend. Then I drew a North tile, and discarded it since it was kinda no use. I drew a North again. Shit. Could have won by zi mo already if I threw birdy instead of North, so I threw my birdy away in case I drew a North. I drew a 5索 in my next turn, and discarded my North, since couldn't be so heng to draw another North right? BTW, there were none on the floor. Anyway, I drew the next tile and it was a flower, so when I drew a tile to replace, it was a North again! Wah!!! Was mad at this point already! I drew 3 Norths myself! Thinking there's no way a North could pop out, I discarded it. Then the next player happily threw the North he drew. I was really mad and starting niam niam niam to Eve, who was sitting beside me.

There only 4 tiles left, and everyone was anxious. Coz whoever let me win have to bao mah, so no one wanted to be the "hero". I had already given up coz I knew no one would throw me my green bamboos, I was waiting for 3 or 8索 but 3 was already pong (my tiles were in such arrangement that 3 could make a pair and 8 would make a triple to win). But I guess I was really lucky, after I threw a useless tile, the next player threw a 8索and I won! It was really a miracle round! I still 啧啧称奇 until now! It really felt like a movie! So planned and unreal!

I gave $10 to Belle, since we tagged team. Apparently she had the luck (she won toto while I was playing) and I had a bit of skills. So we were a perfect team!

I also won in Blackjack, $20+ in for both days. =)

Roar!

I felt so stupid siah! I didn't know my 4th aunt's mother-in-law died recently and I still wished her Xin Nian Kuai Le.

No wonder she looked at me weirdly! So much for being a nice kid.

I did the right thing, that was to clean my room, coz I found my favorite ring!
It was hidden under my stupid printer lah!

What happened just now was more mind boggling than my ring hiding under the printer.

I was putting on my ear stud when it slipped off my fat fingers. Strangely, it didn't drop on the floor coz there wasn't any sound, so I thought it might have fell to my pile of clothes, neither was it found.

Mystery solved when I went to toilet: it was hooked to my belt!

Funny.

Birthday Post #2

After the celebration at Bugis, I headed back to hostel. Probably I was in a very good mood, so I decided to spring clean my room for CNY, before my shower.

I was doing the final touch of mopping floor, when my room was barged open by Miss Ng and Miss Gwee, holding McD plastic bags! I was so shocked, very very shocked, super duper shocked that I retreated to the corner of my bed and stuttered with wails. You know, like how monsters or ghostes cornered someone and left them no place to run.

5 seconds later, we all broke into laughters and cramps.

I had saw them at the end of the corridoor when I was on my back from toilet, but I didn't recognise them! They, seeing that I saw them, ran all the way down to 2nd level.

2 of them had fun laughing at my expression, saying it was very classic and hilarious.

Anyway, they were really sweet. They had bought McD's hot fudge and strawberry ice-cream to celebrate my birthday. They also got me a fantastic brown bag which I blur blur thought it was their stuff.

Miss Ng entertained us with this hotdog joke: Her friend was a BBQ party. She was trying to hold the hotdog which was fresh off the BBQ pit with her mouth, so another friend was bewildered to see her this way and asked what was she doing. She answered:

"I'm trying to SUCK and BLOW the hotdog at the same time!"

Hilarious!

Not many photos, but still we took a few. Luckily they weren't armed with a camera or else they could have blackmailed me a treat with that horrendous face of mine!

This photo did not make any difference either.

Video below was something I shoot after I recovered from my shock, interviewing the masterminders. Isn't it weird how people auto hold a imaginary mic when they sing or being interviewed? Hee Hee

I is Stupid

Mum and Jia had a fun time laughing at me just now.

All because I did a double job. Mum was pouring the tea she cooked in a big pot into a kettle, then it got full, so somehow I tot the most logical way was to pour the tea(in kettle) into a big bottle, then Mum could continue pour the tea into the kettle.

Actually, she could pour the remaining directly into the bottle, all I did was to help her remove the kettle and placed the bottle there.

Bleahz...
