Birthday Post #1

Ding! Ding! Ding! The photos from my birthday celebration on Tuesday, a simple dinner gathering. We were at Miss Clarity Cafe, suggested by yours truly. I went there once and I do think the food there is fabulous, plus there was no GST & service charge leh! You can visit their website for more details and food they provide. =) Yanqi said she was salivating when she surfed the website in office, LOL.

I told them to wear super nice clothes, but actually, they are always in nice outfits since they are working adults, heh heh, it's me who needed to dress up lor. So I did! 是美的咯!Seldom see myself so pretty can...

So pretty, cannot not take photos right? Shoot #1...

Shoot #2...

Shoot #3. Noticed I had the same smile plastered on my face? Ha ha, 嘴巴是酸的咯

So I pout! See, so adorable!

The loving couple!

The happy us

I had the exact same pose, same smile on a photo from donkey years ago. Dunno how to pose alone

The ambience in the cafe, it's THIS dark... No florenscent lights, only candles. No wonder no extra charges, coz they only need to pay electricity for air-con. Not good for me, coz the clumsy me kept getting my hands burnt when reaching to get sauce or pepper.

This is what I ordered, Bangers & Mash. The creamy stuff is potato mash whipped with butter. Very nice! Although Xueling laughed when she spotted the 2 huge hotdogs. She is notti notti!

Yanqi's fish. I forgot the name already. This is also very nice, the fish just melt in your mouth! Soft & juicy!

Ronald's plate, also my favourite dish coz the name is very cute: Old MacDonald Had a Farm. Really like a farm, there's all sorts of meat! Even after giving some meat to us, there was still a lot left! This is how the menu described: "Medley of steak, lamb chop, crispy chicken, chipolata, bacon, ham & potato wedges served with clarity's special black pepper sauce topped with sunny side up" 真的是什么种的肉都有!

Xueling's Roasted Chicken Leg. Actually, it looked more like my leg, coz it is so big! Then again, not correct coz my leg is bigger. Anyway, couldn't finished all the stuffs... There were potato wedges and mushrooms! Yummy!

A surprise cake! I was still waiting for them to check the bill, but somehow none of them asked for it. I kept asking, "Want to go already or not?" and they bohiew me. When the crew showed up with this cake, I was really really surprised coz I tot there wouldn't be a cake since it was supposed to be just dinner gathering! The cake came with a lot of candles lor! Instead of 2 big 4 small candles, she put all the candles given lor, which were 3 big 5 small. Wah lau... Do we look that old? That's why got 2 holes in the cake coz we took out the extra ones.

Yanqi specially ordered this ice-cream cake from Angie's Choice. It was the smallest she could order, but then becoz Ivy and Dennis & gf cannot make it, so there were only 4 of us eating it, and therefore we just ate the ice cream and omit the cake. A bit wasteful, but bo pian... I take back to hostel also no fridge! Ronald actually wanted to give me "facial" with this cake, wah lau, the cake is so ex, I rather eat to my death lor! He wouldn't dare anyway since we were in public place, and I was more worried about my makeup which took me like 1.5 hrs. LOL.

This was all remained. The cream is not those butter cream that you will get sick of, it's very light and not-so oily, like icing, minus the sweetness. The cake is good.

I will upload the videos of the birthday song and cake cutting. Becoz Ronald was the the camera man with my camera, so he missed my birthday wish part. Too bad, coz I made a fantabulostatic wish: A boyfriend! But I said it out loud, so it won't come true, they said one... Well, doesn't really matter, I'm blessed with the best family and nicest friends, no need to wish anymore. =)

There were more photos, but stupid me forgot to turn on the flash lah! So the photos are all dark and ghostly, sianz... We were posing so happily lor!

Stay tune for post #2. =)

Turning 24

I just turned 24. I will be exactly 24 at *deleted*
When I was 4, I can't imagine 24. When I was 14, 24 seemed like a long way to go. Now that I'm 24, I felt old, yet not old enough =(

At 24, I'm still...
  1. a school kid
  2. getting money from my parents
  3. fat
  4. don't have any idea of my future
  5. struggling with my studies
  6. having zero sense of urgency
  7. refused to read & learn about politics
  8. single
  9. act like I'm 17
  10. wasting precious time
  11. don't have any achievements that I'm proud of myself
  12. don't know what is adjectives and what is adverbs
  13. need to think for 5 seconds for simple calculations
  14. never washed the windows in my house
  15. left Dad's pants for Mum to iron
  16. not cooking any proper meals
  17. letting Mum did all the sewing for me
  18. sleep with my teddy bears
  19. keeping items that I had since P1
  20. haven't master the knowledge of astronomy after 5 years involvement
  21. haven't think for my future
  22. asking permission to eat chocolates at home
  23. myopic
  24. procrastinate

Some people could achieve so much at 24, I wonder how they do it. Nevertheless, I still proud being an ultra-optimistic-happy-go-lucky girl who doesn't care being overweight although I kept wanting to lose it. Ha...

Shit shit shit shit

My FYP supervisor wants to see me on Tuesday, on my birthday?

How wonderful! Damn sweet of him. Grr...

I love drawings

About a week ago or so, I was being tasked to draw a bunny for Jamie's artwork, coz she stubbornly wanted a side-view of a bunny's and her drawing of her side-view bunny looked like it was a rabbit's head stuck on a tortoise's body. Jia was supervising her all that time while she did the artwork before they requested me to help her draw the bunny, just plainly drawing and no coloring.

Jia said it was a retribution for her, who had her primary school artworks (not all, but mostly) done by either me or my deceased godfather, to have to supervise Jamie. LOL.

Anyway, with an image of a side-view bunny & my first bunny drawing as a template, I whipped out something decent. I forgot to take a picture of it.

I still vaguely remember the first nice bunny I drew, was actually a bunny picture in an assessment book. I was not supposed to write on the assessment book, instead, I was to write the questions and answers into an exercise book (That probably explained why I was such a details freak back in my younger days) by my tuition teacher. Somehow, with a one-way track of thinking, I also copied the bunny into the exercise book. I think my tuition teacher praised my drawing, although I was so afraid she would scold me for wasting time, heh heh. She named her second daughter using my name, 思琪 to 恩琪, changing the "十" to a "大" in the "思", so I assumed I must have been her favourite kid. Eh... must be lah, I was such a honest and naive kid that I admitted I broke wind because I had a terrible stomach. Much amusement to her and the other kids (all boys) during the tuition. Gosh.

I sort of remembered that I loved drawings (more like copying actually) when I was in primary school. I had this girl sitting beside me in P2, who could really draw, and she always drew pretty princess whenever we finished our work. So I copied her and learned to draw the same way. She was very nice to point out where I done wrong. The jotter book was filled with all those princesses, with a fantastic stats of 36-22-36. I didn't know why she drew them like that, I just copied. I drew them so much that my P2 form teacher praised my drawings coz he happened to see my jotter book. I think the girl scowled. LOL.

In sec. 2, we had to do still-life drawing, I was too dumb to see the different light contrasts and tones, so yet again, I copied my good friend's who was sitting beside, who was an art talent. The items were a kettle, a pineapple, a basket with a towel inside. I drew them almost all the same way except the skin of the pineapple, in which she drew them the conventional way like we do, you know, the diagonals lines with some details to make them look real. I actually drew them the exact same way I saw, with leaf-life skin falling (I'm a details-freak). It was a torture, but then it was worth the hard work. I got 37 while my friend got 35. LOL. Now thinking back, I realised what a bitch I had been. I was shocked at the marks and told her right in the face, "Wah! I copied your one sill got higher marks than you ah!" Thank goodness my friend was a kind girl who didn't took it too hard, she even said, "Your copying skills is very good leh!" I'm so blessed with nice friends.

The interest for drawing was replaced by cooking during sec. 3 & 4, no more art lessons mah.

During polytechnic, drawing became doodling, when I was bored during lessons and not sleeping. I did one drawing though, flyers for my astro club during CCA week. So concentrated on the drawings that the details for the orientation were wrong and I didn't fix it before printing, partly becoz my president informed me too late also. Bleahz!

Recently, I saw a booth for comic drawing in school and I do feel like taking part. PZ and me wanted to take a course in comic drawing back when I was still in poly and she in JC. We went to the shop located and wah lau, that guy dun hiew us, so we ended didn't join.

I think I still love to draw. I still kept the drawing from my cousins who drew us (Jia and me) those Jap cartoons characters when we were still toddlers.

With so many interests, sometimes I feel like I'm good at anything. But, there were also times which I think I suck at everything. Definitely, I have changed a lot. I'm now no more a detail freak, coz I do not expect my handwriting to be straight 90 degrees and 180 degrees parallel to the edge of paper if there were no lines.

I am so nua sia now aka procrastinator.

Shopping

Miss Ng was saying she spent quite a lot these few days, despite that the shopping venue was in NTU itself. There was a bazaar going on in the canteens. Sad to say, I'm also one of the victims.

"最近心情很好,就想花钱!" she said.
"不是心情不好才会想要买东西吗?Hmm... Actually, 不管开心 or not, 女人都是会花钱买东西的。" I replied.

Hor?

Optimistic-ism

To all my friends, families, passr-bys & everyone
If you have been always been disgruntled, unhappy, sick and tired of life, here's a phrase which I picked it up from an email which I find it really true.

Being happy doesn't mean everything's perfect.
It means you've decided to see beyond the imperfections.

Double Sadness

Kenna fine for not switching off fan is making me very sad. Realised my favourite ring disappear only after 6 hours I went back doubled the sadness.

There's a high probabilty that the person who left me the "fine" letter is the thief, coz I left my ring on the table on the spot where the letter was. But I'll be making a mountain out of a molehill if I make a report, coz the ring costs only $2.90.

The only reason I could think of why she wanted to steal this cheap ring was it looked like a white gold or platinum ring, which is also the reason why I like it so much.

A $2.90 ring looks like it cost $290.

Sianz half.

I did thought of myself misplacing the ring. Coz it so happened last night that I was thinking I seldom wore my favourite ring coz it looked too classy and was looking for a place to put. But where I put it seemed to be erased from my memory bank. I searched whichever possible place I could have and no trace of it. I dun even have the deja vu feeling that "I did put my ring here before".

Sianz full.

Kenna fine...

For the first time in 3 years, I was fined for not switching off my fan. Oh my! I reminded myself to post a sticky memo on the switch so as to remind myself to switch. I forgot it.

Haiz...

Oh My Goodness Gracious Me!

Somebodything stole my stinking socks!

Update
Logically, it couldn't be a someone because no one will stole smelly socks. So Jia made the perfect logical reason: Stray cats.
And somehow it made perfect sense to me: My socks were in the shoes for 2 weeks unwashed and probably it smelled so much like salted fish.
Another reason I could think of is the nice cleaning auntie threw it away thinking it was some rubbish. (Highly possible coz my socks were of pale blue colour, rolled up and looked like used paddings minus the redness. :P)

CNY Woe

This CNY preparation is cutting big holes in my pockets!

But I like. The wonderful of shopping therapy. Heh heh heh.

Went Heeren and Far East Plaza with DL today. Oh my, it was another round of pretty things, but this time it was shoes! Pretty pretty shoes!

Chio chio chio.

The shoes are even chioer to me if they are cheap, like $10 per pair. The life expectancy of a shoes, no matter how expensive, how comfortable, how good they are, normally it won't survive more than 20 wears under my feet. So I always go for the less than $20 per pair. However, ever since I manage to get a pair of decent heels at $10 last November, $15 to me is expensive already.

But I broke this rule and bought a pair of metallic shiny purple heels for $27.10. Bo pian, it just caught my heart! Well, not before the pair of $10 red heels though. =)

I imagined myself matching clothes easily with that red heels during trying. Wah ha ha ha. Jesseca Liu, one of the 7 Mediacorp princesses, told Bryan Wong in that variety show, 扮美达人, that every girl should have a pair of red shoes. Supposedly that it goes with a lot of colours.

I totally agree. =)

Never mind the fact that Jia pointed out: 你又不常穿heels!

Soon lah soon lah! Heh Heh.

I should be glad that my brain is still functional

I was waiting for the shuttle bus with a group of trendy girls when came along a guy wobbling on 2 crutches. However, he had no cast on him.

Bimbo A: Eh, you think which leg did he hurt?
Bimbo B: I think the left one, he seemed to hop on his right foot.
Bimbo C: Yah lor, usually we cannot exert pressure on the hurting foot, damn painful one leh! (Like we dunno like that)
Bimbo A & B: Yah lor yah lor
Bimbo D: But then I see he seemed to use his left leg to move forward leh?
Bimbo B: Got meh? Eh, looks like leh...
Bimbo D: Eh, or is it the right foot?

Poor Guy, asking the bimbos: Does the bus go to SCI?

Bimbo A: I think so... Not very sure
Bimbo B: I think all the buses here go to SCI

Me, tak boleh tahan: The bus here will get you to SCI

Poor Guy: Which bus?

Me: There's only one bus, route C, for this bus stop.

Bimbos, whispering rather loudly among themselves: Oh... Only one bus ah, I tot got 3 buses here leh...

After we boarded the bus, at the next stop

Bimbo A: Eh, want to eat at can 2 or not? We here already...
Bimbos: Anything lor
Bimbo A: How? How? Want to alight?

The bus drove off.

Bimbo C: 2 more stops then we alight ok? We will be at canteen 4. Eh, how's the food there?
Bimbo D: Not bad, tat time we were on Campus Yummy and ... (couldn't catch the words)
Bimbo B: Hey, we arrived already.
Bimbo A: You sure we at Hall 4? Doesn't look like leh...
Bimbo B: It is lah...
Bimbo A: I dun seem to remember coming here before...

Chitter chatter as they alight. Thank goodness.

The Moronicles of SQ047

I was trying to deposit money using ATM card (POSB GO!) since my bankbook was fully printed. Somehow, after trying out 2 machines, both refused to read my password and declared service was unavailable for my account.

Turned out that I was inserting Cashcard instead of ATM card. -_-"

How exciting

I had a resume request on JobsDB.com, but it was back a week ago. Anyway, I approved it for release, no harm, right? I only released the one I filled out in JobsDB.com, and not the attached.

The requestor from RecruitExpress emailed me for a more updated resume! Been really lazy to do a really nice and updated one. Oh yah, I had no idea what the job is also.

Very excited, I felt like I'm back to 3 years ago, all those job hunts.

Kaoz.

Hello Panda

OH MY GOODNESS! HELLO PANDA GOT NEW SPORTS PRINTING!

Actually, I don't really bother. I just popped the biscuits into my mouth one after another without looking at the prints at all. =D

Anyway, I went to Bugis Junction and Bugis Village today with KY, and my vision was flooded with clothes! Lots and lots of pretty clothes! How I wished I could bring them all back. It has been donkey years since I last went to Bugis Village, and what a big transformation! One thing for sure, I'm so totally out of that place, it's a haven for teenagers!

Damn, old liao.

Uber sweet coffee

I'm a coffee addict. I need a cup of coffee every morning.

Today was my godpa's death anniversary and we had to pay our respects to him at 8am in the morning. So we went for a family breakfast at the Cheng San market. It was already 8 plus, and the ceremony was supposed to start at 8.30am. Seeing that Jia and Min were still eating, I decided to go and dabao a packet of coffee, and Dad told me to go the stall that has the best coffee.

Their business was so good that the queue had almost like 20 people! Thinking it might take a long time, I decided not to buy. So I went back, exclaiming how long the queue was. "Nice coffee is like that one..." Dad said, in his usual Chinese-Hokkien language which Mum needed to translate for me sometimes. Then he walked off to somewhere, and we all thought he was going to the toilet, which was quite a habit of his. Just moments before he returned, we all thought he "fainted in the toilet".

He came back with 2 packets of coffee! From that super duper busy stall!

The coffee was indeed nice and sweet!

Min: 为什么大姐要吃到两碗 kway chup? Then 我只吃一碗?
Jia: 因为大姐是 XL, 你是 S, 所以她就吃比较多咯!
Min: 吃酱多作莫?还不是要大便!
Jia: ... -_-"
Me: ???

Teddy who?

82039967

This number has been appearing on my phone lately. The first time I picked it up, I dismissed it as wrong number and hanged up on it. So when this bugger kept calling, I never bothered to pick it. Most probably a guy with finger cramps who dialed wrongly to my number when he was actually looking for CNA (not channel news asia, a engineering company) which happened most of the time.

Until just now I decided to listen and ask him to stop.

Him: "Hi, is this *mumble* *mumble*?"
Me: "Huh? Huh? What? Who are you looking for?"
Him: "Are you *mumble * *mumble*?"
Me: "I think you got the wrong number."
Him: "Are you S-I-Q-I?"
Me, stunned: "Yes, who are you?"
Him: "This is *mumbles*"
Me: "Er..."
Him: "We talked a few months ago"
Me: "Did we?"
Him: "Yeah, about three months ago, we met on Friendster *blah blah blah*"
Me: "You said you are...?"
Him: "Teddy. Thailand, England, Double D, Y"
Me: "Oh... Okie... Er..."

3 months? 3 years more likely coz I'd stopped giving my number to online dudes like free tissue papers since before uni! So I had zero idea who this guy is, he doesn't sound local neither does he sound foreign. And simply because I don't recall talking to him 3 months ago!

Eww... Anyway, while we were chatting, I was trying to root him out in Friendster but there wasn't any messages that was from him. Anyway, most probably he won't hear from me again coz I decided to ignore him.

This is as weird as the uncle selling beefball kway tiao talking to me for the first time after 2 years plus. Maybe he wasn't and I thought he was but I assumed he was since he still remembered I don't want onion springs. =)

Listen to yourself

It's the seasonal period of adding and dropping courses (aka modules). Moving into the final semester, courses that are easy and project-free are the most popular. However, how easy is easy? As we all know, different people interpret "easy" differently.

So I was coaxed into dropping Web Services for one of these: Wireless or Digital Communications, both rumoured to be easy. Web Services is deemed unpopular because there is a project, which we final year student don't really like because we want to channel our energy resources in our FYP. But for me, Web Services is one module which I have confident in getting a B, at least.

Anyway, I dropped Web Services, and wanted to take Wireless, but it clashed with my Database. So I choose Digital Communications, but the time - table was no longer pretty, as in I don't have a 4-day week anymore, so I dropped my Computer Security and thinking of getting the register office to get fit me into one of the Wireless class so that I can squeeze into 4-days again. I was thinking of going to the office when I talked to another friend, and she said she had a friend failing Digital Communications! Exactly the kind of news I didn't want to know, so she recommended Telecommunications Systems.

In any case, another friend showed me the notes for Telecomm and I immediately knew that I wouldn't get pass this module. Although it was memory work, but, calculations taunted me, for I will make careless mistakes and still think I'm correct.

Anyway, after struggling with decisions and the system, I'm back to square one: i.e. I'm back to my original timetable; taking the courses I dropped (I couldn't snatch it back already).

I already got my preferred slots and the time-table was soothing to the eyes: 4-days week, and the breaks in between were justifiable (long breaks irks me). Because I was not firm enough, my decision was swayed by "rumours" and ended up in a shitty situation. Now I'm afraid that I won't be allocated my preferred slots, then time-table will be so haywire, what if I can't get back the slot I planned with my friends and I would be so alone. Boo-hoo-hoo.

I really shouldn't be so fickle-minded, I had done the homework of checking the past exam papers, I should know what modules fit me. Unlike the past where I don't have the choice to decide what I want to study and thus screwing up every exam. Now that I can choose what is best for me yet I blindly followed what people said. Now, I felt like I'm running to join the others only to realise I'm in the wrong path and hurt my legs somemore.

Stupid stupid stupid

Resolutions 2008

My legs are sore from yesterday's jog, but it felt so damn shiok! 1mm nearer to my goal of a slimmer me. Wah ha ha ha.

I brought forward my top 2007's resolution, which was also my 2006's, also my 2005's blah blah blah... Lost Weight! Many a times, I read successful lose-weight articles in magazines, or heard from own friends' true lose weight process, I was inspired but not determined. Even when I was badly "humiliated" by my friends (not really friends, were teammates), I told myself I must prove them wrong, still, I just couldn't lose more than 3kgs and I'm back to round one. I was really weakly determined, snacking on Pringles after my jog yesterday. Alright, for now, like what Miss Gwee said, "lose weight to take on the CNY goodies!" Mu ha ha ha. Oh yah, seems like 25kg in 6 months is possible, ya'know? But that means consistent workout and food control. :(

#2 resolution: Stop procrastinate. This bad habit had caused me some sufferings, such as slow progress in FYP, pile up the tutorials, last minute revision. And I also have a lot of other miscellaneous things that required some attention, but since it was not important, I have been pushing them since back like 100 years ago. Even the list of things I do is no use, coz I never bother to look. Must stick them big big in front of me liao. The old me actually used to complete my list of things to do, haiz... After 21, everything seemed difiicult, and I'm supposed to be in my prime! Kaoz.

#3 resolution: Be super diligent, which is actually the total opposite of procrastination lah. So #3 shall be: Dun anyhow buy things, even if it's cheap. Got $400 debt to repay.

#4 resolution: Don't be a parasite at home. Sometimes I really dislike what I am.

#5 resolution: Complain less about people, must see the good side of them. Also, be nicer to friends, especially friends whom I hardly meet up nowadays. I had a friend who MSNed this: People don't care how much you know until you know how much they care. Sometimes I'm really ought to be shot for talking non-stop, without asking a friend, "How are you?". I was really guilty when I saw a friend's blog post about friendship, which she ended with this sentence: "And for those who can't be bothered (as in bothered to ask her how she is, even for 5 mins), I am still alive."

It struck me really really really bad. It felt like tight, tight slaps up, down, left, right on my face.

We sometimes take friends for granted so much that we assume they will be there when we need them, but never did it occur they need us too. Reading her post really made me cried in shame, thinking about friends who have done so much for me and I've done so little for them, and one whom I've hurt deeply that I've lost her friendship. I've always thought, "No money = no go out with friends", but in fact, it doesn't mean bonding must be physically together and talk, a simple "How are you" thru messengers makes a great difference too.

I was such an idiot, but now I no longer am. The world does not just revolve around me, there's everybody!

School is back

School starts officially tomorrow. Thank gooodness my lesson starts on Tuesday.

Need to go to school and print my notes and time-table.

Final race, Jiayou!

8-Legged Freak

I was sweeping the floor today and I noticed 2 tiny spiders. I killed them without battling my eyelids for I have no love for them. I wondered where the hell they came from tho.

2 hours later, I suddenly had the mood to check out the "pretty string of mini black pearls" that was formed on my door a couple of weeks ago, out of curiosity.

I got the answer for my question.

Turned out that pretty string of shit was some spider's eggs and the baby spiders had "came out to play". It was not a pretty sight to see legs coming of that string of pearls. Holy Meh Meh De!

I wrenched in discomfort and speeded to the living room crying out for help. I got Dad to clean it for me. He just "ehm" and his eyes went back to the TV. Seeing how engrossed he was watching the 881 girls singing in the skimpy outfits, I went to get the Baygone myself.

Dad jumped out and came to my rescue when he saw me arming with Baygone (I think he was more afraid I would spoil his door with the Baygone)

Dad sprayed heartlessly at the spiders who were still sleeping in the comfortable egg caskets. Never mind he was a little out of range when he sprayed (he aimed correctly at the third spray), it was disgusting to see the spiders wringling their feet, my hair rised and I jumped. My brain also jumped out coz when Dad asked me to get some broom to clear them, I dunno why, I just dashed straight to the living room and got him tissues to wipe when I have a box of tissue in my room. Seriously couldn't think straight.

I had a really bad lesson learnt: Never procrastinate! I should have wipe those eggs away the day I spotted them!

Baking is fun??!!??

Seems like everyone around me is either making cakes or baking biscuits... yet my faithful oven that I bought during secondary school days to practise for F&N had been banished to be a cupboard for the rags. Oi Miss Ng, I want ur chocolate souffles!

Tsk tsk tsk

Mum wanted me to test the oven siah...So that she could throw away if it spoiled. (She had a kick for throwing things away lately) I had promised her I would do it after my exams.

Hello! It's January 2008 already!!!

I am lazy to buy flour and sugar, and most importantly, lazy to do the mixture coz we have no machine. Henceforth, I will have to do the manual way if I want to bake!

Maybe I'll make some of my favorite cookies for my birthday. =D

Alright, it's been a tiring day becoz of the trip to JB, I still have not done a lot of things which includes listing my resolutions too. Need to blog my expenditure also...

2007 resolution checklist & summary

  1. Lost weight: Failed, I still stand at nearly 80kg. -_-"
  2. No more procrastination: Failed. I still have undone things brought over.
  3. Be diligent: Passed, ultra diligent in studying for my IE and watching movies. LOL.
  4. Be thrifty: Passed, coz I picked all the cheap items.
  5. Learn something new: Failed, I dun think I learn anything leh.
  6. Be courteous: Passed?
  7. Train my level of tolerance: NA, can't recall anything related yet.
  8. Speak less evil: NA, no one to speak ill of. =P
  9. Complain less: Failed... I complained quite a lot.
  10. Have some sense of danger: Considerably passed, coz I feared for my IE.

Need to do a proper list of resolutions. And a summary of my 2007:

January was full of complains about my IA, and also a very sad month towards the end coz of Godpa's sudden death. A sad birthday too. Virgin trip to Vivocity!

Febuary was full of mahjong games becoz of CNY, still sucky about my IA.

March was full of fun: Chionging Zouk, bought a top in less than 5 mins, went for free movie.

April was full of disastrous encounters: Weird people, fell down, kenna suan by Sup, saw a humongous lizard.

May was full of anticipation: IA was ending and I couldn't wait to leave; List of FYP was launched and I couldn't wait to start (Ironically, I did not complete much I thought I would)

June was full of events: PT job, Special Sem Lesson, Ivy's Pageant, went back to IA company to do FOC servicing.

July was full of addiction & troubles: Unhappy with my PT job, hurt my toenail, found out some unappy stuffs from a friend's blog.

August was busy: Camps, school start officially, many projects, and a bitch/bastard who took out my laundry before it was finished.

September was ultra busy but happy: Rush HRM report, bought 2 berms for the price of 1, ate Botak Jones.

October was full of stress: Insomnia, presentation, personal space kenna invaded, ants inasion and a Miss Ng-brightened-the-day-with-her-2-colors-slippers. Oh the non-stress was we caught Lust Caution NC16 version only to be notified that uncut version was to be released soon in November.

November was uber dramatic: Exams, projects deadline, noodle uncle asked me to go home, prof comm presentation got me hysterical

December was lazy & happy month: 2nd place in darts, decent results, chop off half of my hair for a refreshing look, attended 2 weddings, visited Chek Jawa.

Hope 2008 will be a better year!

Happy New Year!

This post is late, 1st Jan has almost gone by half now.

I still have not complete the things on my "To-Do" list... jiatlat siah... Not to mention that "to complete 50% of my FYP" was in it also.

New year = New resolutions! Oh, I'm also gonna reflect on my past year too, see how much I had resolute.

Summary, the first half of 2007 was rather sucky because of IA. Still, 2007 seemed like a good year to me, or maybe because I don't really remember much of the unhappy things except that... I can't remember... Heh... Need to read my old archives to recall.

For a fresh start, I change my hair colour! It was a DIY kit which Jia helped me with it. I felt like a mentor when she was applying the cream to my hair, coz this was only her second try wheres I has done umpteen times for her. I used to go saloon to dye my hair coz Jia did not really had the knack for such beauty steps. Despite my hair being pulled without any compassion, I believe it will turn out pretty nice! I left it for an hour instead of the 35 minutes as suggested, coz our black hair is kinda resistive to hair dyes.

Happy New Year everyone!

Most exciting day of my NTU life!

We got 2nd!!! First time in Hall 9's darts team history!

We had 2 more prelim matches before the semi-final round, against Hall 5 followed by Hall 3. Before the start of the game, my very zai Hall 2 opponent wished me good luck, so nice! We won Hall 5, thankfully because their girls were reserve players, although my opponent tyco checked out in the first game, but I won the following 2 games with my favourite number, 32. We are already guaranteed a spot in the semi-final by winning them.

Still, we have to thrash with Hall 3 for the last prelim round. It was more of a warm-up coz we believed that we would meet them in the final (Our spirits were high and we felt that we could win Hall 1). Sadly, my opponent won me by all 3 games, because she checked out first. I was on the check-out also, but she beat me to it.

Our opponent for semi-final was Hall 1, which I played it very nervously, my hands were trembling. Thank goodness, I won the first 2 games, so that gave me an edge already. I want to win 3 sets, but in our final game, we both trying to check out a double-1, and she did it first! Never mind, last round already, let her win. Heh heh. Still, we beat them 5 boards!!!

We met Hall 3 again in the final, and it was nail-biting round. I was thrashed by my opponent, yet again. 3-nil. Wah lau, I could have won the 2nd game if I did not calculate wrongly and pull out my darts so fast! I had a 48 score remaining, so I could do a nice shot of single 16, followed by double-16. But my darts hit a score of 43, which I calculate wrongly and I tot I burst the score, that's why I pulled my darts out. So I was left with 5, which was neither here and there. So my opponent checked out before me! Last game was pathetic, she finished the game even before I checked in! Malu siah.

We lost to them by only a board, a very close fight! We still got our medals, just that we won't have our picture on Hall 9's hall of fame, that's all. =)

Oh yeah, after 2 exciting days, I still have to meet my nemesis: Exam results! Gosh...

Darts competition

Tiring day.

Our first match was against Hall 16, and we beat them 4 boards (meaning 4 people out of the team won). I won my opponent by 3 games. Heh heh heh, we were very friendly to each other.

The second match was against Hall 14, which we lost by a single board (they 3 boards we 2 boards). I lost to my opponent, only winning one game, the last game. She very cool, so I also cool cool, didn't talk to her.

Third match was against hall 13, which we won by 3 boards. Yet again, I lost, winning the last game. Wah lau, she damn tyco lor! Anyhow throw de! Damn pissed! Heng we had already won 3 boards, else I will feel very bad about losing.

Fourth match was against hall 2, which we won 3 boards. I was the deciding board, unknown to me lah. Still, I beat my very strong opponent 2 games. It was a heart racing game coz I wanted to win badly and our scores were so close to each other. The first game she won with a higher score because we had to do a sally match due to equal score at the end of 15 minutes. So I fired up and won the last 2 games. Phew! She was damn cool lor, before the actual game, I was warming up, and when I turned around, she was already standing behind, getting ready to throw, and her pose very "nice" lor. Her left hand was behind her back with the darts, and she would use her right hand to get the dart then throw. Looks like a discipline mistress.

Last game of the day was against Hall 11, and we beat them 5 boards!!! Which mean the players in our team all won! My opponent was strong, and she won the first game by checking out a score of 79 which left me very stunned! I was still lagging behind in about 100 odd leh! I checked out the second game earlier than her. Phew, tying the score to 1-1. The final game, she lost her cool and she was still checking in while I was already checking out on score 16. She started anyhow throw, really anyhow throw, till she suddenly tyco check in, and within 5 minutes, she brought her score down to 11! I was still hanging to checking out 8. The despicable me deliberately asked the umpire how much time we left, which kind of cause her to panic, coz she had an odd number, while I had a better chance at checking out 8. Thank goodness, I checked out in the last minute, ending the game with a nice score of 5 boards!

Our first game tomorrow will be against Hall 5, follow by Hall 3. If we can win Hall 5, we will be guaranteed a spot in the semi finals! We can do it!

Our assistant recreational secretary was very nice to help us buy dinner and treat us some Fruit Tree orange juice. But he incurred the wrath of our canteen auntie when he blatantly shouted across to the other side, "I'm going to Canteen 2 to buy dinner, who wants?"

I heard that the Auntie's face was very black.

NYP BBQ gathering

Below are the photos taken when we were at Belle's house for BBQ. All the 4 photos below were sort of like finale, you know, had our stomach filled, got nothing to do, people wanting to go home, so we took pictures! Earlier during the BBQ-ing, I was lamenting how come we didn't take any photos during any of our gatherings, and then Mr. Botak whipped out his camera borrowed from his sister with dying battery. As usual, he wasn't spared from my suanings. Diyumi, thank goodness you weren't there. He was as usual, giving me 1001 reasons when I asked him why, like "Why did you bath when we are going to have BBQ, still gonna be smelly what?", and he started explaining the from the morning what he did. Wah lau eh.

I looked super ravishing after a steamy bath from the BBQ. LOL.

Somehow, people just don't grow up, do they?

These 2 photos were taken using Qiyou's camera after Belle's sister, who took the photos for us, commented that the photos looked blur. So tadah, Mr. Macho flashed his camera.

These 2 buggers, should have took out the cameras long ago. Anyway, I had took a lot of pictures on the post-BBQ, like washing the grill, washing the floor. Stupid Botak took them out when he sent us. I shall bring my own camera next time.

I was quite the active one that night, I BBQed, I took random and candid pictures, I talked a lot, and surprisingly, I didn't eat much, but I was already full from eating the marshmellows afterward. Sigh, missed the days of poly life.

Merry X'mas everyone!

Shiok shiok shiok

I won $14.20 in mahjong just now, biggest winner! Wah ha ha ha
Then I used that $14 to return Belle for Ah Beng' s and Haoxin's birthday presents. -_-'''
Wah lau lau...

I'm so gonna "extort" presents from them next year. Mu ha ha ha.

Waiting for the pics of the gathering to be delivered into my inbox.

I felt my life was hanging by a thin thread when I took a free ride home in my friend's bf's sports car. He was speeding at 130km/h!

Smart Sis

When I was 8, I only know how to watch TV and changed video tapes.

Jamie could change CDs, log into my computer and type Hanyu Pinyin. Not only that, she translated my post on the white gold earrings to my Mum that, "我为了那 $100 的 earrings 睡不着". Where got?

I hope she won't translate the previous post on my haircut to my Mum.

New guy

It's been a long time since I last did it, almost 4 months ago. It felt like my first time, for this guy was new.

Nervous, fear, excitement all rolled into one. Stomach churned very badly. I was very curious about his skills, never mind that he wasn't great looking (the last guy I had was so cute looking, hee).

He was very gentle, be it the way he talked or touched.

I felt safe, and perfectly at ease, when he fiddled my hair and asked, "How you want it?" You know how awkward some guys can be when doing such things? Some don't even look into your eyes!

Even though I couldn't see the confidence in his eyes coz I was blind (I didn't wear my specs coz it will hinder his performance), I knew he could do a good job and make me smile.

We took almost an hour, which was rather slow. But hey, I like it slow! ;) Too fast will make me think he's rushing to go home and not doing his job well, you know.

At the end of everything, I was stunned. I never knew that 3 inches could be so long.

Still, I love the new look of my hair. It's straight again! Wo ho ho ho.

Shitty Shitty Shitty

I felt like my hair is exactly like Medusa's dead snakes: limp & lifeless, and that make it horrible. My fringe no longer fell down like a nice bang, but auto sweep to the side every morning like the weirdo ang moh in my hall. Just endure 2 more weeks and I'm gonna cut it for New Year.

Another horrible thing is I can't stop thinking about Jamie's earrings which Mum got for her, $100 white gold earrings, on an 8 year old kid? Oh my, my 1st pair of gold-plated earrings cost only $10 in 1991. How era had changed.

I felt like a total fat bimbo as I typed the above.

I'm feeling very lousy, fat & ugly.

Urgh.

Darn the PMS.

Funny?

1 stick-thin asshole said I looked funny in that "dress", aka the outfit I wore for Yanqi's wedding. He even "ha-ha" after that. I got very bothered and mad, and summon all vulgar words I could remember.

He apologized and asked the obvious question: was I angry?

I told him it was the PMS season again.

Damn it.

Photos from Yanqi's Wedding

We immediately took a photo with Yanqi once we arrived there. =)

This time with Bro Choo.

From my face, is easy to tell that it took quite an enormous effort to twist the party pooper.

Ivy failed to twist the pooper. It was still intact lor.

Another group photo, this time with the purple couple. Girl in purple is my Xiao Xue Tong Xue.

Drinking the Martell Poison. I watched in fear. Ha ha. I finished the Martell and my throat felt like burning.

Doing the Yam Seng. FYI, we had only 6 people shouting. See that Ivy? Her expression is hilarious!

Tired already la...

No more strength...

Yanqi was laughing at Ivy I presume.

A hug before we headed back to SG.

I need a haircut badly.

Very Boring

Yet again, I attended another wedding dinner last Sat. One word: Boring. I'm a friend of the bride, and I must say she was very clever to put our tables near the exit, coz we can zao first. Ha... Maybe after attending numerous Chinese weddings, such style might take some time to get used to bah.

She's an Indian Christian, therefore there wasn't a 10-course meal for us too look for; we were treated to a 10 different types of food buffet. The vegeterians were being served though. So, there wasn't any programme list for us to see what events were coming up. After they graced the red carpet, we were treated to almost an hour of waiting and some interesting music from her father-in-law who played the electric guitar. Cool huh? From afar, the father-in-law's artist hat which looked like Elvis Presley's hair.

After 1.5 hours, the last 2 rows of tables left only 1 table of people plus 4 ladies at another table, all from JYPS including, ex-JYPS. We were so paiseh when the bride was saying her thank-you speech and waved at us. Ha ha, she herself also joked, "Thanks to my colleagues, although I don't see many, ha ha ha."

The groom & the bride were saboed to do an Indian dance without their knowing. They only knew they had to dance, so when they came out again after the bride changed, the 2 of them laughed when the music was played.

I left at around 10pm, without seeing the bride and taking a photo with the couple.

Still, it was great to see the old colleagues again coz I did not see them for more than a year already. Some of them couldn't recognize me coz they couldn't link the shitty-looking me in year 2004 and dress-up me. Wah ha ha. The top popular question was "What are you doing now" followed by a "How long more?" after I answered I'm in Uni. The third popular question was whether am I attached. I gave a standard answer of "Not yet". One teacher very cute, she was asking me "how long more", which I answered 6 more months. Then she asked me whether "Am I attached", before I could answered, she answered for me, "6 more months again right?"

Lol.

I think the most classic question asked was, "Very sianz hor, to sit with Mr. S?" FYI, Mr. S was my boss when I was in JYPS. I act act and gave a very sianz face, and we both laughed. I think it happens everywhere, nobody likes to sit with a Boss who is so full of himself and talked non-stop when started.

I was very touched when the JYPS cleaning auntie came over to say hi to me when she was leaving. By right, I should go over instead.

The people who left first were all Chinese, damn malu, eat finished liao then leave. Actually, partly because we did not know what to expect. No wonder our tradition of Chinese wedding dinner is to serve 10-course, not only does it look generous, it also helps to kep the guests stay put!

Hor?

很疼女友?I can imagine the number of people laughing & gasping for air reading this. Maybe is just me only.

人家说他拿假是要躲避你?Please lah, you think he has so many leave to clear to avoid you mah? Anyway, there's no need wat, since you are leaving the company. It's not thick-skinned at all to think that he took leave because of you, it's pure stupidity.

Let you let him go.

吴小妹,该清醒了!

我没时间约你见面,是潜意识在作祟吗?

Fast

I read Jamie's children encyclopedia that food we ate in fact took 3 days to be cleared from our body system. Gosh, looks like I need to fast more than 3 days to get my system clear. My house seems like to have a non-stop eating marathon, especially Sunday. It went like this.

Ever since I woke up at 12nn, I went to the market with Mum & Jia and had a bowl of spicy ban mian. Then we went to buy the ingredients for making wanton. As the wanton skin were used up, we made some meatballs from the remaining mixture and fried them. They were in our stomachs in less than an hour, our snacks while watching some HK drama.

An hour later, we had dinner and we cooked all the wantons we made. So it was wanton marathon all the way until bedtime, which we Jia & me gobbled the last few pieces of wantons and half a waffle we bought during market trip.

I wanted to keep my meals light today, but Jamie was still hungry after the 2 peices of toast breads, so I made some mui fan from the leftover rice and wanton soup. It was so nice that I ate 1.5 bowls. Dinner was fabulous even with just 2 dishes and no soup. Wah lau, my waist looks like I'm 5 months pregnant again.

I think I'm bringing forward my 2007 New Year resolution: Lose weight. -_-

喜欢一个人就想占有他,爱一个人不需要拥有他

I can't remember where I heard this from. This was a sentence I threw at Someone when she was whining to me about her really screwed-up relationship with this guy she crushed hugely on. It was an unrequited one-sided love, though I didn't really think it was love and hence I told her that she just like him, not love him.

Anyway, it is a very subjective phrase since everybody thinks differently.

The first half of the sentence was said by Rain (I think) in the Korean Drama "Full House" and I excitedly exclaimed to Jia that I said something similar, and I told her what I said to Someone. And recently, Jia asked me again what was this phrase I said. Apparently, she msned it to her friend who was in a rather shitty relationship (I said shitty coz that guy is very sticky to the girl).

I'm not a love guru, not very expert in relationships since my pasts are countable using one hand or less. However, ever since secondary school till now, my friends always turned to me when they encountered relationship problems. Probably because 旁观者清, I was able to analyse the problem in a much clearer thoughts than them. Therefore, more or less, I was able to conclude some things out of people's experience.

So far, none of my friends had actually encountered the level where they have to let somebody go because of love. So indeed, the phrase "喜欢一个人就想占有他,爱一个人不需要拥有他" is a level where the situation requires a lot of generosity and 舍不得。

Personally, I love this phrase a lot, enough though it was not originally created by me, still, able to form the sentence out of blur memory and conjure up such an artsy-fartsy phrase is not something that I can do it everyday. So I happily put it on my MSN.

As I said earlier, this phrase is very subjective and I'm not a love guru, so take this phrase as food of thought. However, the world is very ugly with people who always think they are correct. Right after I posted the phrase, Mr. Big Ego msned me the following which I couldn't be bothered to reply coz his ego is too big to see any reasoning.

J Sim: your theory wrong la
J Sim: when you like somebody, you don't mind to share with others
J Sim: when you love somebody, you mind to share with others

I didn't say even this theory is correct lor, hor? It is just a theory of mine. Stupid people just don't think. Obviously, the phrase is too profound for him to understand also. 哼哼,没墨水就是没墨水,还要假厉害。If he wants to prove my theory is wrong, he should have wrote something that I would be convinced. The way he puts his theory across, sounds so crude lor, what you mind, you don't mind de. Is like kids saying "I dun fren you anymore". 哼! Here's a guy who think he knows everything about love and everything about women because one past relationship with a PRC and supposedly an air hostess.

Sorry, I want to say things about Mr. Big Ego, and I am not backstabbing.

He haolian that his EX-GF is an air-hostess.
He is damn proud that he was in a relationship before.
He thinks that since he was wooed by girls before so his quality is still not bad.

Whenever he haolian about such stuffs, I feel like puking in his face. No, don't even have to hear him haolian, see him already can puke a few thousand times.

Please lah, he's not good looking, he's fat, and he's damn proud. The below average would not even want him as boyfriend, and he still think he's in the creme of the crop? To put it honestly in a hurtful manner, who knows what his ex PRC gf wanted out of him, right? I'm not stereotyping PRC ladies, but you know, for a person like him, I seriously didn't see any boyfriend quality in him!

Alright, maybe that girl likes the chauvinist pig in him lah.

Pui!

Cute

Heh heh

Before...

After

No double chin indeed looks better!

I have smelly clothes

Yesterday at this time, it was bright & sunny & very hot.

Today it rained.

Yet again, after I did my laundry.

Kanasai.

A day in my life when everything doesn't seem right

Today is very the screwup. I thought I misplaced my phone at home, and by the time I realised it, I was at Khatib MRT station already. No matter how I dig my bag, I just couldn't find it. So I walked my way home to collect my phone. Eh... dun have leh, so I digged my bag again and TADAH, it was buried under my 2 t-shirts. Anyway, sweating like a pig and too tired to walk again, I nuaed until Mum leaves home to work, which I followed her and helped also: cleaning lor. Wah lau, that Mr. Pui Ang Moh only came home for 2 days yet the house was like he was here for 20days. The house is 肮脏的咯, the ash dust was sticking to my feet, yew... I had to vacuum and dust my feet at the same time lor, quite an acrobatic feat, ha ha ha.

Then, we had beef noodles & sugar cane after that, heh, energy all restored once again. Heh heh heh. I took 157 back to Boon Lay, the bus is slow de lor, I tot I would reach within 30 mins, but it took almost 1 hour. Wah...

Then went to NTUC to buy some food, oh my god, the Q is long de lor! On a Tuesday afternoon? Dunno why, I still buy my food and queued to pay. Wasted my own precious time.

And now I got sore throat and runny nose after eating Pringles. =(

Kenna reprimanded when Mum gave me allowance.Haiz... Quick quick faster faster grad!!!

Ok Ok, I blog I blog

Wah ha ha ha, obviously I am under no stress, so I seldom blog liao. Hee hee, I have a few events to blog, but I am so so so lazy lah. I kept procrastinate lor, I would login to blogger, then end up reading other people's blog and then shut down. Bleahz...

Chek Jawa Trip
Right after my exam on the 22nd Nov, my cousin Sydney jioed me to Pulau Ubin's Chek Jawa. Chek Jawa is yet another conserved nature habitat in Singapore. The interesting fact about Chek Jawa is that in this small area of land, there are at least 6 different ecosystems cohabiting together: Coastal Hill Forest; Mangroves; Rocky Shore; Sandy Shore & Sand Bar; Seagrass Lagoon & Coral Rubble Area.

Some photos that my cousin took:

Chang Point Ferry Terminal. There's no ferry leh, only bumboats. They make it so nice yet they named it so wrong hor.

Anyone knows where is Pengerang?

Cookie Monster House. This cookie monster was once floating in the sea before the owner picked it up and display it outside his house.

Going in! After 1 hour of walk. It's heh heh chuan lor!

I posed under Sydney's request. I very fat!!! Gosh!!!

Finally saw the counter!!!

This is the boardwalk that was built for viewers. Initially, people can actually stepped on the shore and beaches but that caused a lot of harm to the habitats, so they built this for us to walk on. Other than seeing the living things, I also saw a "Moon", aka ass. Got this ang moh, his berms split and he was wearing no underwear leh! Wah lau, his ass must have enjoyed the airy wind very much.

This crab was the largest we saw. Looks yummy. Hee hee hee.

This was a sea eagle I think, and it was soaring high above us. Got a few suaku sstarted cooing, "Oh my god, so gorgeous, so pretty, it looked so free" blah blah blah. I find their behaviour very digusting, so hypocritical, dunno why.

I took a video of it too. Wanna add music de, but as usual, lazy lah. So I'll post up once I done it.

Next: Yanqi's Wedding at JB

Finally finally finally, Yanqi held her wedding banquet at JB. From she said it until the actual banquet, it was 3 long years! Ivy, Xueling and I were very very excited, even though we couldn't be her jie-mei in the end coz Yanqi is going to be "marry-off" in Malacca, how to go? I oni have 1 pic lah, coz Yanqi had her pro-photographer to shoot for us, I oni took this to blog lor. But then, this photo is not doing me any justice at all, wah lau, I got Bro Choo (XL's bf) to help me shoot, yet he was sitted, so my double chin was very obvious, my long hair nowhere to be seen, side fringe totally invisible and I think I looked like a chao ah gua leh! See! So ugly!!! Gasp!!! Ah!!! Yanqi still very gorgeous! =)

This wedding banquet strikes a wedding fever in Ivy, throughout the lunch, she was planning her own wedding and asking us our opinions. Oh yah, being very very very very close and good friends of the bride's, we had ultra special treatment: our table only has 6 people gobbling 10-people meals. Actually, one of her friends couldn't make it and this indirectly lead to 2 other dun want to come. Anyway, 吃最多的就是我们桌的唯一两个男生 & me lor. 怎么瘦得了??

56k Dial-Up

IS FREAKING SLOW!

I can click a link, play a game of solitaire and come back to it.

I have the use older PC which we gave to Mum for playing purpose. We have to use the 56k dial-up coz I didn't bring my portable hard disk back which contains the driver for broadband band modem. Anyway, Jia will buy the new graphic card and I will install it this Sunday, so it is a temporary measure till we fix the PC.

And because the old PC only has 2 pathetic USB ports, plus I'm too lazy to get the CD to install the wireless driver for the keyboard & mouse, we resort to using the wired devices. Feels so solah, especially the keyboard. The "space" key is spoilt, had to hit hardly. Typing this entry, I had to backspace many times and hit the "space" again.

Looking at the old Compaq PC with my pretty LCD monitor is also very salah; it's like electronic device version of "Beauty & the Beast".
